It was a very good debut performance from R Ashwin . He took 9 wickets in the match. 3 wickets in the 1st and 6 in the 2nd innings.
He became the 3 player to get the Man of the match in the debut test match.
He bowled very well with variation in the match. This it really a good start for his test career.
Hope he will continue his form in the upcoming matches.

Yes indeed!! It was a very lucky moment for Ashwin according to me. However, gaining success in the first attempt might give over confidence to people. At least Ashwin should not become a victim of such attitude problems! Wish he succeeds well and makes himself more deserving for such awards!

Ashwin played well and got the man of the match.
Picking 9 wickets in debut is amazing for a bowler to start his career.
We cant say that he is lucky, he is having luck but his bowling is also equally good. his variations in bowling especially carom ball is difficult to play.so the Hard work also matters.

Surely he is having some luck. The main lucky factor for him is the captain dhoni, win play in the same irl team. And as you pointed westindies, specially this team is not a good spin playing team. So that has been a advantage. In addition to that his variation in bowling and variation in speed have him the wicket.

It was a brilliant debut by Ashwin. He not only got wickets, he got real good wickets. His match haul of 9 wickets was a great start to his career. Also winning the Man of the Match in his first match is brilliant. But his real test will come against bigger oppositions.

Ya thats what every one is waiting for. We should watch out how he perform chair good top teams win play spin properly. A match against team like srilanka will tell how good he is in test cricket.

It his variation does the trick.
this WI team is not an experienced team to face the spin, there Ashwin with his carom ball and all made it very very difficult for WI.
surely he is having the skill, hope that he will keep going like this.Dont forget Ojha's performance, specially in first innings.

He is having very good variation with the ball.
I thinks its Dhoni's pick, and once again his decision worked.
Surely, it may not have been the case if it was against some teams like srilanka..
anyway he is a good asset for the team.
