Pretty much everyone in todays world has a phobia of some sort. Some individuals have complex phobia's like "not failing in life" and "not letting people down" while other people are afraid of spiders, snakes, etc.
My phobia is a little different than those mentioned above. I'm 27 years old and horribly afraid of STITCHES. Yes, you heard me correctly stitches.
I can remember always being afaid of them. It's not an afraid that they are going to hurt me, but there is something about them that freaks me out. I can remember I almost hyperventalated one time when I shook a persons hand and he had stitches on his finger. They don't look natural. Ugh, just writing them makes me nausous.
Do you have a phobia? If so, what is it?

This is funny: I used to be scared of baking soda!
Funny, I still used the baking soda in baking but was scared for the longest time to use it in cleaning. Until one day, someone got through to my head that since I use it in baking why would I be afraid to clean with it?

My phobia will be dog, and needle. I hate to get flu shot, or anything related to needle. I also don't like dog, because whenever I saw them barking, I just afraid that they might be aggressive, and try to bite me. I try my best to get away from them.

I used to have an irrational phobia of moths believe it or not, even though they are harmless. I traced it back to an incident that I experienced as a child and then used NLP to change the way that I represent that incident to myself. The phobia no longer exists.
The only other phobia I have is claustrophobia, the fear of unopen spaces. Sometimes makes it difficult to be in lifts/elevators and when surrounded by large groups of people I feel closed in and start becoming anxious. Can't seem to do anything about this one.

Not to nitpick, but a phobia isn't the same as a fear. It's part of a class of mental disorders (with very specific categories: agoraphobia, specific phobia, and social phobia) ) that make a person not be able to function in a given situation. Given this definition, "not failing in life" isn't really a phobia nor "not letting people down". A maladaptive fear of snakes, spiders, etc. however, are examples of specific phobias.
Just wanted to clarify this so we could get clearer answers.
