sometimes i feel that to be socially by people or accepted by some circle of friends that i need to prove that i have something that they would be proud of. or that i can show them i am loveable also. so sometimes i would love to improve myself just for them to be part of their life more and that i would be easily be loved more. many times i feel sorry that i didn't improve my self or attain my goal when i was much younger so that i would be enjoying my life more now and that i would be more accepted now

This was never more obvious for me when I was in university. I joined a fraternity, and as part of their acceptance process, I had to prove myself. It was a dark time for fraternities back then, and to prove one's worth meant gowing through a hazing process.
Which I did.
