Family history and stories.

Does your family know it's history and does it have any particular stories that are passed down? My family never seemed interested in much of it's own history. I only found out some of it fairly recently when I asked my father and began researching the family tree. It seems I am the only one of my immediate family who cares enough to ask or take note of it. I found out a lot of other things by researching the tree. I did try sharing this with my sisters but one had no interest and the other dismissed it whilst forcing her kids to learn "their" family history on their father's side. Apparently that's worthwhile because that side is Irish whereas being English and having English ancestry doesn't count . We don't have any exciting stories in my family so far as I can ascertain. We were predominantly rural peasants and then became urban peasants but we do come from far and wide, mostly English, some Scots and Cornish and possibly some French. What about you?

I am hispanic from the caribe, but my ancestries are from Spain, because my father told us about his ancestors and so we understood why our last name is not very common in my country.

Well, I know my great grandmother came from Illinois in a covered wagon. I have some information somewhere on it all. After my last move all my stuff is so messed around I don't know where it is right now. There are some stories but I really don't know much of the familie's history.

On my dad's side I know the relatives were mainly from Germany, and on my mother's side it is mostly English, with some Irish and Native American sprinkled in. On my mother's side, descending from my grandmother's line, we have a notable relative who used to ride with Jesse James and his gang. For some reason this fascinates my uncle, my mother's brother. I think it is because he's one cranky mood away from becoming a criminal himself.
