Hi everyone... I have been a member here for quite some time now... But I was not using it already for a while it was just last night that I re opened my account here. I forgot a lot of things already like what does the star beside our name indicate to? and what does it have to do with the number on it?Can anyone tell me again? Does it have anything to do with our earnings?

I think that you have already found the answer in a previous discussion and you can read all about it here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx#3
Your 'star rating' is an indication of how other MyLotters rate your posts. Ideally, it should mean that, the higher your star, the better quality your posts are. Unfortunately, this is not always true. If you are accustomed to post good quality posts but 'controversial' ones in certain interests (religion and politics, especially), you will find many people disagreeing with you and rating your posts (often undeservedly) negatively. This is quite wrong but happens, nevertheless.
Some people worry too much about the value of their star and hate to see it fall. While this is quite natural, it is not really constructive or useful. Where ever we go (and the more often we express our beliefs and opinions honestly and openly), there will be people who disagree and actively 'mark us down' in THEIR estimation. The only thing to do is to get on with life but, of course, to keep checking the validity of our own beliefs and opinions.

I concur with you. In fact my star rating moved to 10 five times from 9 and every time it went up there were some good friends who felt happy in bringing it down to 9. I stopped worrying about it nowadays. First time it dropped I felt very bad as if I have done some mistake.

hi jndlponti
The star beside our username represents our mylot reputation, it is from 1-10 with 10 being the highest. It depends on how our fellow mylotters rate our discussions, responses and comments. If you will read the FAQ about Discussion Rating System (DRS) you will read there that our reputation is one of factor on how Mylot compute our earnings. So we should be responsible in rating our fellow mylotters.
here is the link about DRS so you would understand it more

jndlponti - The number inside your star indicate your mylot reputation. Depending on the quality of our responses we are given + or - by mylot members. In your case the star rating is 10 (95+) Our earnings will be good if our star rating is good. I am happy you have got the maximum star rating of 10. have a good day.
Why were you away from mylot for sometime. Is it because you were busy with your offline work? good day.

a perusal of this link will give you full idea about the system the way star rating is done.
