According to the nba.com website, hopes are high with regard to ending this year's lockout. A lot of fans are excited and so are a lot of teams. Do you think the league's popularity will decline because of this delay? Basing it on the preceeding lockout, I guess the league will suffer a decline in attendance. What do you think?

hello there.i think the league's popularity will not decline because of the much improved media technology nowadays.it will just boil down on how they will market the game today.aside from that, the last NBA season was the most watched NBA season according to a survey because of the intense competition of the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks.as for me, i will never lose enthusiasm watching the game.i have been a fan since the Michael Jordan era.

i wish Michael jordan is still playing too. when he reigned in the NBA, i was about 4 years old.at that age i have a very little interest in basketball but i know he is very popular that time.i grew up idolizing him and making him an inspiration to play basketball. as for now, I do wish he will regain his championship touch by creating a championship core being a team owner of the Charlotte Bobcats.

I don't think NBA's popularity will decline. People watch basketball not because of how the negotiation went between the owners and players but how the game is played by the players. On contrary, I think, this season becomes more interesting, as teams try to shape up to be better. Big 3 is "in" now in NBA like Miami, Celtics, etc. Also, it's interesting to see if Bulls will try to get D. Howard to give Rose an offensive partner?. Will the Spurs still be a big contender after they were outclassed by Grizzlies last season? How will the Nuggets perform this season? Will the Heat trade Bosh? What will be the Lakers performance now after Jackson retires? Will Dirk continue his hot shooting or will he show more inside movies this time, can they defend their crown? This and some other issues makes me think that this season is getting more exciting.

Rose should have a partner in order for them to survive playoffs, and richardson can probably give that. However, Boozer should step up on his offensive play just like the days when he was in Utah. Chandler is a good fit for Miami, a good big man but I don't know if salary cap of Miami can permit him to join the team, if he is needed, they should probably trade Bosh.

it will really be impossible for Miami to go beyond the salary cap but Chandler can opt to receive a lesser salary if he wants to play with a contender team.remember that lebron, wade and bosh agreed to receive a lesser salary just to form their dream combo. and besides, miami still has pat riley, the one who convinced the three to agree to a lesser salary. the heat organization could use riley to lure and convince chandler.

hello my friend.i also agree with you that this coming season will be more exciting than last season.the buzz right now is the coming of the top free agents.among them are nene of the nuggets, chandler of the mavericks, kirilenko of the jazz, richardson of the magic, and gasol of the grizzlies. i want tyson chandler for miami.miami really needs big shoes to fill in the center position.i want also for jason richardson to be acquired by the bulls.he will be a good complement to Derrick Rose.

hi stuckonu oh I hope so. really we basket ball fans have weathered something like this before so maybe we may lose a few fans but us diehard fans are going to be yelling go Lakers take them down now see I am in southern California and a Lakers fan bit time. so substitute the other teams and their fans and hope we get the league back and playing again. You know I tbink sports figures are so spoiled that the more they get paid the more they always want. me I would settle for half of what any of them are paid. course I am just an elderly lady not a sports star just a sports Laker fan. lol lol .lol.

Hello Hatley.i really like you because you are a huge basketball fan despite being at your age. it is rare to find people like you in our country that loves basketball so much. I loved it when I saw the fall of the Lakers against the Mavs last season but it hurts me a lot when the Mavs crushed my Miami Heat. i hope the Lakers and the Heat can redeem themselves this coming season.

I think that in the beginning the popularity will decline but when "they return to normal" it wil not harm the popularity The NBA is also very popular in much countries outside the States and will be in the future And yes i'm happy that the strike ends

hello there.i do agree on you.the NBA popularity will soon return to normal especially if nearing the playoffs. aside from that, there are lots of good players to watch for.Miami heat is still in contention for their second title in franchise history and their first crown in the Big three era. the lakers are also in controversy since they have a new but defensive specialist coach in Mike brown. the knicks is also expected to match Miami as far as talent is concerned. and most of all, i am excited to see where chris paul will land.will it be the celtics or the knicks?hmmm...
