Here is my question, when my mom and I went to supermarket for shopping at the seafood department, how can you tell which fish is which, besides there is a sign telling you that is red snapper, and that is Tilapia etc..... I read some articles, the authority had done research on some supermarket and seafood market, 1 out of 4 telling you that is the fish you are looking for which is not. So, you might paying too much for some fish, while others are not. That is the problem. Also, if you are allergic to certain kind of fishes, hopefully that is not the case, and you thought they weren't, and bought it which might cause your health problem. I think the authority should enforced a strict law to make the seafood they are selling to be truthful, and they should knowledgeable about what they are selling.

I hope that you get what you pay for, I have never wondered about this because I take specific kinds of fish and I know how they look and taste. I believe that if you buy from a brand then they can't sell the fish with another name because it is approved and it has the company's name on it. If someone discovers this and sue them they will have to pay a lot and it will cost their reputation.
In the fresh fish section, I guess you need to know how it looks like. But if you eat a kind of fish regularly you will know how it looks like after a few times so you will be able to understand it if you go to different super markets and they have a different fish under the same name.
