sometimes there those people who will put tags that will mislead or discussion or will have nothing to do with the discussion. we put tags to get a target audience for the discussion but there will be people will make those tags that will attract the wrong audience you wanted on your discussion. I wish we have the ability to remove tags in our discussions, we cant control what people will tag our discussion but at least a feature to remove some tags will be helpful. admins you want to have less work right?
I'm sure many people complained with some tags their discussions are getting.

CaptAlbertWhisker we cannot delete them but we can report them to thed admins if they are not on topic or are insulting and they will delete them for us. I ha ve had several mean insulting tags to one of my discussions and I did report it.

the tags are not mean or insulting but they are not the tags I wanted, I tried reporting them but I get no response.

Sometimes they are not so bad Albert even if they are irrelevant : I had fun with some of them, innocently added to my discussions
. Instead or writing to GAA, I don't tag my own discussions and I am able like this to remove myself an irrelevant tag : tags of the same weight -- it weights 1 when it is added by 1 user, 2 by 2, etc -- are displayed in alphabetic order according to their weight. You have just to tag your discussion by adding words preceding alphabetically the tag you want to remove and/or by copying other tags relevant to your discussion -- they will get a weight of at least 2 and will be displayed before the tags of weight 1 -- to make it disappear.

I might try that strategy and see how its going to work, If GAA dont found it offensive, he is not going to remove it even if its a total nuisance. they also make the search results go misleading. I hope that little advice will work.

Contact GoAskAlice with this request and the specific discussion. They do remove inappropriate tags when asked.

if the useless tag is not offensive, alice wont care. Even if its not offensive, sometimes it ruins the purpose of tagging cos it makes the topic misleading. we have tags to focus in the target audience we wanted. if admin gives us that power, it will give them less work.Plus its our own discussion anyway. thread starters must have that power.

That's a good idea, captain. 
I also think it will be helpful especially for those who are very particular about the related discussions that appear alongside their discussions.
