Some say that if you sit under certain trees you get healed. The neem tree is considered to be a medicinal tree. Those who live near the forest area may have this experience. People from all ages like to sit under the tree. Some may recall back to their mind their younger days when they in a group of friends or siblings and cousins used to walk along the trees. Some like to climb at the top of the tree and sway. Some may remember having cought the pending roots of the peeple tree and swaying. Some tie the ropes with the cushion and like to sway and read. For different purpose people like to sit under the trees. Some may sit and compose poems, essays and some may like drawing. Some may like meditating. Some when they are hit by grief or conflict would withdraw from home and go and sit under the trees. They feel consoled under the shadow of the tree and when the cool breeze sways over them they feel consoled. Some may sleep profoundly. Sometimes even the pets may keep company with us. Fores and the trees are a powerful means to console us, to shelter us. During the summer season we like to sit under the tree and recreate and eat as well. The nature is a real mother to us.

Those who live in the forest area have close contact with the nature. Even though they had not studies Botany they knew medicinal plants. They never told us the names not the plants saying that they were bound to keep professional secret and never to misuse it.I remember, when we had had flu or any other fever our mummy used to cllect some leaves and boil in the water. Then after cooling it she used to give headbath saying we would be healthy again. We used to feel so fresh. During the rainy season and during the summer once she would bring the bask of the tree, cook it along with the rice and coconut juice and give us saying it is very healthy. Today I repent for not asking mummy what was the scietific significance of all that. During our school days we were never confined to the room. Early morning we would go to the forest, face the rising sun , climb the tree and study or byeheart the lesson till it was time for breakfast. We liked to sit on the branches and lean to the tree. We loved the touching of the leaves and the cool breeze. The same is in the evening until the sun would set, we would even watch the birds flying and twittering. All these childhood memories today make enchanted

Surrounded by trees - Trees are awesome.
Trees are wonderful creations. Indeed a poem that say, "I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree....." is true. Trees are lovely and as for me they make me really happy. It is for this reason that I do love to retreat in a place where there are lots of trees. The cool ambiance trees give really refreshes not just my body but even my soul and spirit. It is wonderful to meditate under a tree or to do just about anything that needs peaceful and fresh environment.

hello to you. this is interesting. i have heard that plants, all kinds, also communicate. this the reason why other people talk to their plants. unfortunately, i do not have a green thumb to even be able to have a plant of my own. i was told plants like to be talked to and touched. it is my first time to read something about people climbing tree and swaying. must be a challenging feat to even climb. it is always comforting to be under the shades. trees make you feel secured and rested.

Good day Jac!Many consume the neem fruit as they say it controls diabetes.Rural and other folk here brush their teeth with the twigs of the neem tree.Your discussion brings back fond memories of my childhood when i used to climb trees for fun and pluck fruit like sapodilla and mangoes.I spend time under a big mango tree in my house with my dog and other pets and it relaxes me.Nature is the one which nurtures us.

I agree with you srjac, nature is trully a blessing in our life. For some reason I am not sure about the healing of the tree. and I am the first one to say it may be because I am not famaliar with same. But I do know sitting under a nice shaded tree in the summer or a nice dripped snow trip in the winter on a day its not freezing cold, can be wonderful. We get the time to think meditate and really think situtations through...Nature is wonderful. Thank you God... enjoy your week!!!!

I had never heard these things about trees. I do think trees are wonderful things though and they do make me happy to look at so in a way they are healing. They also remind me a lot of childhood and of life as they live for so many years. Imagine all that trees would see over time if they had eyes. I like what you are saying about trees very much.
