I have observed that homework is always become an enemy for young children. Many school gives their students homework to allowed them learn at home or to catch up with national curriculum so that the teacher expect their student has done at home so they only doing quiz or any activities at school. Personally, I disagree with this approach, especially when the school schedule is full day. Young children is really need rest and playing outside with their neighbor friends in the afternoon. If they must doing lots of homework, maybe their brain will get exhausted in the long run.
So what do you think? Do you mind your secondary school kid overload with so many homework?

Homework is neccessary for school education,to some extent. However, many schools and teachers don't notice the effect of the amount of homework on childern.Homework is a mothod for childern to go over the lessons they learn at school, and the purpose is to strengthen their knowledge, not to train them to do exercises. Therefore,it's the quality of the homework not the amount that is to be laid stress on.Schools and teachers should consider more to select representative exercises for students as homework, not a large amount of homework.

yes, homework is neccessar for student
so the function of teacher or lecturer for measuring how the level of homework for their student??
if the level of homework is not bigger, so many students become lazy and maybe is not creative..
but if the level of homework is too much , maybe make them easily get bored and think that the lesson is not interesting anymore for them

HI dear, in India the pattern of schooling is advanced day by day. Here we have different Boards (State Govt. owned schools, central board etc etc) and in all cases these days the homework has taken over as Project based assignments. My children aged 14 & 10 are not getting any home work as they used to in the primary classes as their pattern is based on CCE (continuous comprehensive evaluation). But to complete a project work is no child's play. We, the parents, need to give them full support. So me as a parent is really upset with the way they children are given projects. We can see children playing video games and pc games rather than playing in a garden or outside of the house like we used to in our childhood days!

I think the school children were given many tasks, it is better than nothing. I think they are burdened with a lot better job than they spend time playing. I will accompany my child to accompany children while they learn. If it's too much homework, I will discuss with the school to provide school work according to their limits.

It is true that most of the students consider homework as an enemy, but the fact is that homework is very essential for students. Today nearly all the children spend time on computer, internet (playing games) and video games. This works adversely on their health and somehow make them dull. Regular home assignments keep children attached to the books. They will eventually understand the importance of home assignments. Also, if they will do their work daily they will develop the habit of completing their work on time which will help them in their life later.

I think homework is a good thing - as much as I hated and still do hate it from some of my college courses - but I think that it would be wise for teachers to consult one another so that the homework load isn't so much that students have to spend their entire evening finishing it, especially in high school, where things like extracurriculars and building social links and, for some, working jobs, are just as important. Too much homework will cause an overload where nothing is retained, but too little will prevent the material from sinking in.

iam answering your question based on my opinion..
first homework is needed for every student at any age..no matter the student is in kinder garden or in elementary school
but every kind of homework is depends on every level of the students..
so the teacher must see whats the level he or she teach...
so homework is still urgent for the students..
as parents, what we must to do when the kids reject for doing her homework?? as parents, we must convince that the homework is good for them...

It is okay if they only have homeworks. What is hard for the children is when homeworks, quizzes and projects are expected in 3 days within that same week. For example, they have homeworks to be passed tomorrow and at the same time they have quizzes. Then they still have the projects to do because the teacher/s has only given them 3 days or say one week in advance to do them. It would be so stressful for a primary kid, especially for those 6-8 years olds. So it's important that those teachers of different subjects would know when to give the children loads of work to do, and not give them all at the same time.

Well we do get loaded with loads of homeworks at times but it is fine for me actually. And to be honest, I like doing homeworks and think it helps me with my thing. I kinda get that satisfied feeling after my homework is done and like it like that. But yeah to each his own i gues :)

I reckon when students are in secondary high school, doing homework is a must. I'm still in high school, in my final year next year and my final exams will determine my fate in which university I will go to and the career I want to do. It's pretty full on and competitive in Australia as the country uses a ranking system in order to put you into university. I understand if primary school kids are getting too much homework as kids need free time and leisure but once you get to high school, it's big step up. By the time you reach senior year in high school, teachers expect you to do the homework and they won't check it anymore. Pretty much, you either do it or it's your lose because homework is like a form of studying and there are teachers who can go through it and help you. Because if kids just got studying to do, they won't be exposed to questions or information that they need to know and study notes don't fully help. That's why we have homework too! I hate homework as well but it does help me understand things better and improves my knowledge.

My own isn't in school yet but I have notices from watching my husbands younger siblings that are in elementary school through college are always very busy with school work but this why the schools hey go to have a free period on which students can get work done ask teachers for help or get missing working And even then some tea hers give them too much work. But yet they still find time for fun.
