The scale tilted slightly in favor of New Zealand by the end of second day of second cricket test match between Australia and New Zealand being played at Hobart, Australia. Australia, having dismissed New Zealand for a paltry 150, were 12/1 by the end of the first day but were all out for 136 shortly after the drinks break in second session giving New Zealand a slender lead of 14 runs. Australia however struck back in New Zealand second innings claiming 3 New Zealand wickets for just 73 on board but skipper Taylor and Williamson put on a strong partnership of 63 runs without being separated by the end of the day and put New Zealand on driver's seat with an overall lead of 153 runs and seven wickets in hand. New Zealand however should not be complacent and should consolidate their position to take themselves to invincible position on a good batting wicket. The first hour tomorrow morning is going to be the key to decide the fate of the match. If Australia manages to take some quick wickets then the pressure will be back on New Zealand. Let us see how the things fold up tomorrow morning.

Australia can get into the game by having plenty wickets within the time. I think they should make Ross Taylor out at fast. We all know that he is a good cricketer withe the ability of doing good shots win all the direction with less affords. So they need to tackle him fast. Am i right ?

Thank you wondewreboy. The things change dramatically in the mornings. let us see how the things unfold in the third day morning. You are right Australia have to take plenty of wickets tomorrow morning to get back into the game. We all know how dangerous Ross Taylor could be when he gets going so it will be in their interest to get him fast.

this is a interesting test match going on.. but now, i think Australia is having a upper hand as they are 70+ without losing any wicket.Looks like Australia will chase it down, but the match may turn to any side...

I think in a low scoring match, it is a good advantage. I think the key for New Zealand is Ross Taylor. If he stays till lunch then I think the Kiwis will be on top of this match. Either way the lead is currently 153 runs and any score about 200 on this pitch would be an difficult one. Cheers! Ram

Yes Msdivkar Kiwis should not be complacent and must try to reach at least 250 plus runs. If they do not get more than 250 plus then I doubt Australia will bat in the same manner they have done in the first innings. Australia will easily win the match. So, it is Kiwis who are behind in the series and have to stretch the lead as much as possible. Eagerly waiting for the 3rd day, I wish Kiwis win the match.
