I will be buying a house in the near future and want to raise rabbits for food as well as selling meat and also to luse their manure in the garden and worm bin. What advise can you give me on proper ways to lraise them such as how much room do they need? How much food? What breeds of rabbits are best? Are any of the meat rabbits also good for the pelts?

Hi Oscarbartoni, that is really a very good idea.
Over here, people keep rabbits as pet, and not for food.
It is tough enough to keep rabbit in high rise apartment, and nobody will think about keeping it for food.
I think you can consider keeping a few quails as well.
Quails are very low maintenance birds, and they do not need to go out of their cages for exercising or anything.
As long as they have 12 hours of daylight, they will lay eggs!

My uncle have some rabbits at his house. Here are the condition, I hope it can help you.
He makes a little cage for about 1 m x 1m that was stayed for 2 or 3 rabbits, it is cleaned once in two days. He feeds them with many veggies, such as mustard green, carrot, leafy vegetables, certain grass, and others. Make sure to clean the cage and keep healthy them. Those rabbits live healthy and fat there.
I know that the rabbit fur is so soft, but it is uncommon to be sold at my country.

We raised rabbits a long time ago but I don't remember the specifics of how much food, etc. You keep rabbits in a cage, one per cage, unless it's a momma with her babies. They don't need much room as they aren't really active animals. I would suggest that you find a copy of "Raising Rabbits the Modern Way" by Anna Kanable. It's not really modern but it was in the 1980s. There are two books named this, so be sure to get the one by Kanable. This is a popular book for homesteaders.
