As a follow up to my previous discussion, I wanted to share how this man did more than just a few unethical experiments to prove his theories about behavior and how it could be conditioned. He had an affair with his research assistant which caused an end to his career in the psychology field BUT what he moved on to do is what effects us all still today.
After his forced resignation, an advertising company recruited him to give them a scientific spin on their marketing strategies..boy did he ever. He is one of the founders of playing on self confidence, fear, and rejection to sell a product! It seems that his psychology education give him the knowledge he needed to play on the insecurities of people and turn them into customers. Here is an interesting article about Watson and a couple of other psychologists that contributed to the media we are exposed to today

Did you ever link the strength of advertisements to a psychologist? Did you realize advertisements were so carefully planned? How do you think that some people are destined to do things that effect people forever?

Either that or for some reason he thought he was doing the right thing..I don't know which. It reminds me of a saying that my grandfather used to say though..."The road to hell is paved with good intentions".....hmm. It's hard to see many good intentions in the things this guy has done though.

I never linked to 'a' psychologist but to psychiatry in general. Brain washing, pride, self confidence and rejection are definitely big ones. People want to be thought of in the best light. Keeping up with the Jones's is another big one. Thank goodness we have the right to chose and free will.

Hopefully good people have either common sense or good instincts and can keep away from this sort of thing.

I am supposed to be surprising you and keeping you on your toes..your not making it very easy
He doesn't seem to have much of a conscience?
