Does anyone know any good websites that offer free designs or maybe even a magazine that will send you a free issue. I've recently lost my job and don't have a lot of cash to spend on hobbies.

get yourself to your local library. you would be surprised the books you can get there, not only on cross stitching, but on everything (of course!)

I've looked at our library, I'm a frequent member there but with me living in a small town, it ends up being you take what you can get and it's sorely lacking for variety at times.

Go here: http://www.free-cross-stitch-pattern.com/ They have all kinds of cross stitch patterns. I second using the library, too.
