With the current performance of the Indian team it is very difficult to look for any positives. One of the positives though in my eyes is the emergence of Umesh Yadav. Today the youngster bowled his heart out consistently clocking 140+. He was rewarded with a 5 wicket haul that helped restrict Australia when they were threatening to run away with the match. What are your views on the youngster? Cheers! Ram

He is the consolation prize for Indian supporter from this series. He not only bowled 140+ consistently but also had shown variation in his bowling and had disturbed Aussie batsmen a lot with his bowling. But I am waiting to see his performance one year later coz it is usual for Indian bowler that they lose their form with expertise. Remember Ishant Sharma. He also created headlines with his debut test series performance and now you can see where he is today. Another example is Sreesanth. The only exception till date is Zaheer Khan.

Yes, that is the key. Whether he can retain his career injury free. Whether he can maintain his pace. This is what would be interesting to see. Cheers! Ram

Actually the bowlers do not come with an expiry date. But yes, pace comes with an expiry date. That is the reason we still have the likes of Munaf and Irfan doing rounds bowling at least 10-15 kilometers below their best. Cheers! Ram

Yeah India is the only team in which fast bowlers come with short expiration date ,because as soon as they get success they begin to fly high and as a result everything else become important for him except practice and exercise.

i would say discovery of this series, if he can beat so much of talent in australia, specially the pointing then he can flees his magic on others teams too, just go on boy work on your speed, you will balance it later.

Yes, now it is important for us to groom his talent. The key would be of course, for him to stay injury free. Cheers! Ram

Of course, I am a sports lover. During my younger days, I did play volleyball nationals. Also I had once made it to the cut off of the Under 19 team for Madhya Pradesh. So I do have sports running through my blood. Cheers! Ram

Well he is certainly a great find for India. Its because bowling with pace only is not important ,bowling is lethal when there is some swing at that pace which Umesh has.Great thing is unlike Ishant and Sreesanth who have been supporting bowlers for Zak ,he bowls well to left handed batsmen too, which has been weakness of Indian bowling over the years. He went for runs is Sydney but that was due to extremely defensive field given by Dhoni otherwise he has been very promising and with experience he will become more useful.

Yes, whenever he pitched the ball up he was very effective. But he still needs to get consistent and only then will he be a regular success for India. I think Zak has a talent to work with. Cheers! Ram

I agree with you ram, Umesh Yadav is the only positive for India in a dismal tour of Australia. We thought England tour last year was a disgrace to Indian cricket, I don't know how to express this tour of Australia it is worse than that English tour. Umesh Yadav is the only silver line to this tour with 12 wickets in 3 matches, 5 for 93 as the best figures is certainly indicates lot of promise in the youngster.

yes umesh yadav has performed vert well.. as a result he got 5 wickets... but now australia has now sealed the series 3-0. i am now very disappointed. batting department is not that very good.. i think indians are not able to adapt to that conditions.

Yes, it was a good haul for Umesh. Of course our batsmen's poor performance has continued in this series and that has cost us the series. I just hope that Aussies don't make it a 4-0 whitewash. Cheers! Ram

Yes Ram, Umesh had talent that we had seen in India itself, but he had proved himself in this tour, after some long time India got a man in the form of Umesh Yadav who can bowl upto 149. Its really great to see him, that too he grow from India where pitches not support seamers. He is a good future to India. Umesh also seems to be a quick learner, where he get used to conditions very quickly. The only area he need to improve is he is leaking more runs but its not a problem if he takes more and more wickets.

Yes, he had a good series with West Indies as well. But his real test is definitely this tour. And he has bowled well in at least two innings. Cheers! Ram

The good part about him is that he is really quick , keeps the ball up making the batsmen play most of the time and has the knack of taking wickets.. It has been a while since I saw an Indian bowler beating a batsman for pace and today he did trouble the Aussies a lot.. The bad thing is he does bowl a few loose which I believe he will correct over time..But the worst part is we Indians are so obsessed with making heros out out of these cricketers after just one series that it ultimately gets to many peoples head.. I just hope he does not go the Munaf/ Pathan way, who started out as fast bowlers only to soon be classified as medium fast.. Just hope he continues to bowl fast with discipline and serves Indian Cricket for long..

Yes, he is a bit wayward still. But I think that is what I expect him to learn with experience. What I like is the % of his goals that are bowled. Cheers! Ram
