Hi there mylotters...
I hate dust, wanna know why it is because they are always there hanging and floating around. It is as if they will never leave. I for one have trained myself lately to clean up everyday. Yet everyday they are there!!! IT IS like they are taunting you (hey you can't get rid of me punk, not with a broom or duster or dust pan, maybe vacuum but guess what??? you don't have one hehehehe - DUST) well that is how I think about it) but anyway Ive learned a trade open secret in cleaning surface against this stupid floating dust. It is wet towels. you sweep pick the dirt with wet towel wash on the sink and voila, no flying dust and dust doesn't comeback. Well at least for the day but hey I'll just think it is exercise. How bout you guys what do you do with dust????

Yes, that's the best way to wipe those dusts, wet rags. After a while you can wipe them with a dry rag. That way the dust will not spread to other place.
At least you have the time to clean your room everyday, my friend. Me, whenever i clean and dust our bedroom, i could gather in the dustpan much of them. I am really amazed that dust can gather that much, when we only open the two screened windows at night when we arrive from work.
Yet, they are plentiful. Oh, it's really dusty in a tropical country like ours , my friend.

Hey there simplyd,
Yess it is truelly amazing how much dust can pile up in just one morning and if you come to think about it, you just cleaned yesterday and they weren't there.
SO kudos to those who are cleaners for being so patient and to dust i will never quit on the fight to clean-up. Yupp tropical climate dry and rainy sometimes but is dusty when in days of heat.

hey there simplyd,
I think the rain actually catches all the dust in the air and get's it to the ground.
That is probably why no dust is in your tables or windows or any surfaces.
Well for me I prefer that the rain comes only at night so as to avoid traffic or any rain related incidents i hope rain only falls between 2 - 4am, If only it was possible.

I use Wipes when it comes to dusting, especially things like my Computer monitor, my keyboard or anything that might harbor germs as well as being dusty. Many times during the warmer months especially I find myself having to dust more, and picking up more lint, etc. but anytime I do dust it leaves me with a happier smelling environment as well.

wipes oh my Tina I had not thought of that, why not as my keyboard and oh my monitor shows streaks of this and that but
for some reason had not thought of using wipes. great tip. also
you are so right these all will carry any virus we may have
also the phone, things we use all the time. housekeeping dusts
but for some reason they just stir it up so I spend half the
day sneezing from dust allergy.whats really funny is I have a large collection of beanie babies and the housekeeping aide comes in
and methodically picks up one by one all forty of them, me I would
'have gathered them up in tens and been done with it but guess she is paid by the hour so she drags it out. and the furniture polish
she uses finishes the job on my allergic nose. I have no idea what she uses but its not pledge as I always used that and know i am not 'allergic to i

That is wonderful to hear that youve gotten a brand new TV i wish you could have posted a pic but anyway, it is a good thing that this has motivated you to become more conscious of your cleaning habits and thanks for sharing. Don't worry once you've started cleaning you'll most likely love it and do it probably everyday.

I don't care that much about dust, unless is a big amount of dust otherwise it don't bother me. But, my sister is like you, she so stressed out about dust and hair on the floor that when she see one, she turn on the aspirator dust and that boring noise begin.

Yes that's what me and my mom do when we clean at home. We would have a small bucket of water and that is where we're gonna wash the small rug used in cleaning surfaces. We would wipe it until it's clean and wipe it dry too.

Hey ther enelym001,
Well for me i think i would now prefer wipes as some suggested her on the sight but if money is tight i'll make sure i have my handy dandy wash cloth and one tip, i try to wash the clothe on the sink as much as often so that dirt is flushed directly since buckets would still hold most of the dirt, but my apartment is small and i can get to the sink easily, if you have a big house and the sink is far well i guess that technique will do, it would be a pain on the back to go back all the time to the sink if the house is massive. Thanks for sharing and say hello to your mom for me She taught you well :

Yeah you're right the water will eventually turn black and dirty. But what we normally do is to keep changing the water when we see it turns black. We use about four old cotton clothes which we cut into pieces. We would wash it a soap too and pour a bit powder soap on the water too. That's what we do on our fake plants too
Sure will say your hello to my mom. She's addicted to cleaning the house, so I got all those ideas from her.

The dust and I cohabitate very well. LOL. Did you know the majority of dust is our skin that is shedding off? I need to get a handle on my dust, I just don't seem to have any time.

I hate dust to. Imagine if we never had to dust again how awesome it would be. I seriously do not dust enough. My house doesnt get to bad as far as dust goes though luckily but it really needs a good dusting right now. It hasent been done since October. I know I'm lazy. Using a vaccuum to suck it up or using a wet wash cloth to wet things down is the best way to dust it keeps it from just blowing around and relanding on the surfaces like it does if you use a feather duster etc. I did that once and the dust blew around and I had such a bad allergy attack all day from it. I learned to never do that again lol. When I lived in my mothers house the dust was terrible in my room. I could clean it with a wet rag and the next day a thick layer of dust would be right back over all my stuff. It drove me nuts.

Dusting is one of those things I have to force myself to do. I can either dust regularly or let it accumulate and plant. I don't have a green thumb, so I dust.

Yeah, it is rather annoying. It rather does seem more so in the winter time, when I have the windows closed, so I am trapped right in the house with all of the dust to say the very least. And it does seem like there are many layers of dust. It seems like most are not visible, as they build up. The moment you stop cleaning, it seems like they are going to build back up.
I swear, bar wrapping the entire house in bubble wrap, there is really no end in stuff. If there was only some way to keep it from returning. Oh well, it is just a never ending battle that we are likely going to wind. Thankfully dust does not have any human intelligence. Otherwise, it could take over the world with how adaptable it seems to be.
