It is time to replace the old stoves and ovens. As on Sunday, the gas - range stove just not working at all. We tried many times to ignite the fire, on sparking sound heard, but we don't see fire flame ignite. We knew it is time to replace a new one. So, on Monday evening, we all went to Home Depot to purchase a brand new one, which is in a pretty good deal, $549 with 10% off; plus free shipping, and only $44 installation fee. I guess real estate market hasn't back up yet, everything just on a deal bargain still. Not bad of a price for a new stoves and oven.

Hi King, it is good that you able to take care well of your electrical appliance until it can able to last for over 10 years. It really surprising me a lot since i never have any electrical appliance that can last that long. The most longest is my parents old TV, lasted for nearly 9 years. How i wish to see more of my electrical appliances able to last that long life as well. It is good that you managed to get a good deal for your new stoves and oven. Hope this new electrical appliance able to last a very long time for you as well.

Ten years? That's it? Wow.
Sounds like you got a pretty good buy but personally I would of tried to have a gas fitter out to see if maybe it wasn't just a matter of having a simple part replaced for what could of possibly been much less of an outlay.
Our electric stove/oven is over 30 years old and still going strong.
It is used many times a day, everyday.
This is an interesting post.
What did you do with the old stove?
I know a gas fitter and think I may pose a question to see what the response may be.
All The Best with you new stove. Hope it lasts much longer than the old one.

10 Years doesn't sound like a particularly long lifetime for a gas stove...Had it seen a lot of use in that time? Better luck with the new one!

You certainly have a great deal on the stove. Well, I guess the old one has done its service and I would say 10 years is good already. If you want it repaired, you will have to pay and most likely it will not last that long. So having a brand new one would be a better option.

Mine is more than 10 years, and up to now it still functions well. It's probably because we seldom use it. Did you try to get if repaired instead of having a new one? If having it fixed is oke, then you may save some of the money for other uses.

Well I hope you made a good purchase and now enjoying it.
I myself have been contemplating and actually saving so I could buy a new stove/oven. Mine is still working well but I am actually enticed with convection stove/oven. It looks so neat and I learned it saves a lot of energy and cooking time. The only disadvantage it is so costly. Nevertheless I think I'll never stop till I convince my husband that we should buy convection stove. I truly like this.

Hope you got the good brand that will last
longer than your previous one. I am saving for
a new top stove as well and an oven but I want
to have a look at different stores/shops and see
which brands they mostly recommend, which ones look
better and which ones I would definitely save for.

Oh,10 years of using it is really a long period of staying and working capability of your stove. You really have to replace it.You really handle and take care of it well and properly use for it to lust for that long.In our case, our washing machine is quite in still good running condition for about more than ten year now too.No plan to replace yet until it is broken and not working.
