I want to cut sodas out completely. I'm not much of a juice drinker though and don't like plain water. The only flavored water I really like is propel. I do like tea but that's not good either. I have gone a bit for awhile without sodas, but ya know it's so easy to just pick up a soda and drink it.
I drink DHA and Omega 3 milk or Watermelon juice which is good. I don't like anything orange and haven't really had anything orange in awhile so it may tear my stomach up. Apple juice is good and fine but I drink too much of it and well you know what I mean.
Have you given up sodas and if so what do you drink instead?
I have thought about getting those smoothie drinks, they are expensive but big containers. They are good and well maybe not delicious delicious but they grow on ya. getting three or four would last me a week I think if I drink juice in between, and there will be times of the day I'll be at work so won't drink the juice / shakes.
I can also just get fruits and make my own, get two or three containers and mix my own, that will be healthy.
What do you do drink?

In everything there is a bad part, crystal light uses sugars that aren't healthy for us. So while they are delicous, they aren't nutritious. I've heard the sugars that they use cause cancer. I'm trying to eat right and healthy, maybe not to the extreme but definitely a lot better then I have been.
I've thought of making my own sodas by using soda water and a flavoring. Maybe even kool aid and soda water?

Oh okay I see what your saying. I still think you can turn that around. Things can be done to kind of protect against that, precautions. You don't strike me as someone who doesn't eat healthy though so I don't know what to tell you there.

I have cut back on soda myself. My husband is diabetic (Type II) and me being the loving, supportive wife I am following the same diet plan as my husband. My husband likes those Crystal Light packets (they go into the water) and have a variety of flavors. They have no sugars and no carbs. All they do is flavor the water. My husband cannot drink juice because they are high in sugar and being diabetic he has to watch his sugar intake. I drink water and the Crystal light tea (it is decaf so it does not keep me up). I also drink some Hawaiian Punch in the individual packets.

I have heard that the crystal light packets can be unhealthy so I try not to use them at all. I think it has to do with the artificial sugar that they use. I was getting those and enjoying them until I read them. Truth is, most of the things we consume is unhealthy, and most of the things that are healthy are too expensive!

My husband's diabetes doctor said they were okay to use. I had asked before e bought them. They have no sugar and no carbs. I read the label carefully. I thought they were unhealthy, but when I checked with he doctor and the nutritionist they both told me it was okay for him to drink.

I drink coffee, black. Or water with lemon. Herbal teas. I will not drink a lot of juice because it is mostly just sugar. I will mix fruit juice either with seltzer water or with tonic water for something fizzy and good. Tonic water can be bitter but we like it because it helps with muscle spasms.

I think they are just as healthy cold. I find that they are light and refreshing.

I dont' drink much coffee, now I have had lemon water and it's good, but hmm maybe I'll start buying lemons and some fiji water and squeezing the lemons in adding a bit of sugar and.. well I've thought about doing that anyway, the water part tha tis.
Herbal Teas, I have a few of those, maybe I should get some more. Now can those be drank cold and still have the same health benefits?

I used to drink a lot of Dr. Pepper and make Dr. Pepper floats with chocolate ice cream. But I cut out all Dr. Pepper(and therefore soda) about two years. I drink water instead, probably only a little more than I used to drink. The only other thing I drink is a little over a glass and a half of milk a day and two cups of coffee a day. One problem I have had is that I would drink Dr. Pepper along with having a snack like cookies or candy or something and as the float and since I cut out the Dr. Pepper I tend to eat more of the snacks(and more ice cream than went in the float) at one sitting than I used to.

Yes almost like trading one for the other. I guess the Dr. Pepper Floats made you feel more full or made you not want to snack as much. I have a problem with snacking myself but am trying to get out of it. I have healthier snacks now, just need healthier drink choices. There is so much out there to choose from just finding the right thing is what I need.

I am a Dr. Pepper addict. I used to drink them everyday. I had to cut down because it was interupting my sleep cycle. I have a sleeping problem anyway and the pop wasn't helping this condition. I still have one but probably only about two or three times a week. Smoothies might be very good for you but i would check and see if they have good ingredients or not.

I have never been a big dr. pepper fan, but I think your dr. pepper addiction is my pepsi addiction. I love the stuff, it's just delicious. I hadn't really looked at the smoothie label in detail but I know it has healthy stuff in it. It pays to look at those labels now, like "100% fruit juice.... from concentrate". The more you read the more you find out, I don't understand the 100% fruit juice and then it's from concentrate, just sales I guess.

I have given up sodas off and on. I drink them now too but I drink other things too. I love smoothies. Lemonade is huge for me. Tea...I like it sometimes too. I am crazy about strawberry lemonade...I know..it sounds weird but it is super good.
Water. I go through times when that is all I drink and then I go through times when I hardly drink it. I need to start drinking more of that.

I haven't had a soda in so long. I used to drink diet cause the regular was so sweet I couldn't drink it! But couple years ago, I stopped drinking soda..no reason, just did. I drink iced tea addictively. But water...add some lemon or MOI (or is it MIO) additive to it and it is a great flavor...watermelon is my fav.
I had a soda the other day at a fast food, just for a change, and drank about half of it and then had to dump it as I just couldn't stand it anymore!

Unfortunatelly, yes, MIO is that expensive...I waited and watched till they went down to $3.50 and tried it and it was really good so I watched for them that low again, and I keep it in the fridge too. Yes, totally a "special" thing for me to make them last longer!!! I have also found that those Lipton "carry alongs" or whatever they are called...it is a tube of flavored tea and you just pour it into a bottle of water for flavored tea....as is, they are a bit to strong for me, so I use about half in the water. But alos, a little dap in my regular ice tea makes a great taste! And they aren't that expensive and if you do like I do and mix them with regular tea....that makes them last longer to.

I've done that before, just given up on sodas or tea and went with water, It's last maybe two weeks, maybe even a month and then back to the ol' trusty sodas and tea. Truth is I havent' even had tea in so long. I could start doing unsweetened tea with lemon, that'd be god. Now are those MIO's those things that are from gatorade or something? They are a very small container? We have them at our store and it's about $4.99! wooowe, I want to try them but not for five dollars!
See I want to be the person who drinks a bit of soda and then not like the taste of it! I've got to eat and drink healthier.

My dear giving up soda is a very good decision. Many are addicted to soda unmindful or ignorant of the fact that it will corrode the lining of your colon so that long time consumption will make you pay a high price. So keep yourself soda free and you will never regret it.
But I think you should learn to drink water. That's the best drink ever. If you can teach yourself to resist soda then you can also teach yourself to like water too. It is not just cheaper it is really very beneficial to your body.

It's funny how just simply cutting out sodas can make a difference in a person's diet! Water is better for you most definitely, but sweet tea is so darn good!

I've been wanting to cut out my diet coke intake too! I've reduced it down to half a cup everytime I drink it, but I wanted to find a healthier choice. The problem is, I haven't really found anything. Water just do it for me.
There was a time where I've substituted Sunny D, but it wasn't really close. And I think the ingredients aren't that healthy either.

I can see that you are into having healthy drinks , my friend.
That's nice that you are trying to cut sodas completely and replacing them with fruit drinks instead. It's really healthier that way, and would benefit your body well, ultimately.
Yes, doing those fruits drinks by yourself is better. That way, like those commercially done fruit drinks, they don't have some added preservatives, for them to last long on the shelves.

Giving up soda is really hard. But I'm happy that you are able to do it. Propel is good. There's also lacrox sparkling water in different flavors. You can also add stuff like crystal light to your water. Hope you are able to find lots of drinks to substitute for soda.

I like to drink sodas too which I'm trying to moderate and lessen now for healthier purpose.I much as possible I do drink water instead. But there are really some circumstances that I can't resist drinking sodas especially when the meal is yummy and delicious and when I really have a good appetite. But I do lessen it now and try to drink water more.

Make your own juice is more nutritious..and you can guarantee that there's no preservatives that's been added in that one.
So, I think I would suggest that to you.
In my case, I don't really drink sodas that much. But I do drink it sometimes but only in a small quantity...that is if I have no other choice.
I would prefer water more than ever since it's more healthier for me and it could clean up my kidneys. I don't really drink water that much...but I am making a way to always remember it. Water is still the best for me.
Have a nice day!

Yes water is definitely the most nutirious source of refreshment out there. I think making my own juiecs and smoothies is a good idea and one I will implement. If nothing else getting sugar free juices from the freezer section and going from there.

Hi SomeCowgirl, yes I have given up soda years ago...and It was
one of the best moves I've ever made...I even lost a few pounds
which was very surprising to me...I must admit every now and then
I do have some soda...but definately not on a regular...
I have since started drinkin a lot of the powdered Ice Tea that you
have to mix yourself...I have never been a water drinker...just could
never adapt to the lack of taste...I know its good for the body and
with that issue alone I and neglectful but I do have a sip of water
every now and then...more often than I have a soda....LOL....
I have never been a coffee drinker and as a matter of fact I never
even liked the smell of coffee since I was a little girl...so that
definately out...
Making your own drinks sounds like a good idea...Do you own a juicer?
that would be a nice and healthy way to go....
