The situation of most people is so bad right now people aren't following politics like they used to. And congress is taking advantage of that. Most people are more worried about putting food on the table. Then the war on terror has somehow opened this door to some questionably constitutional legislation. Of course its not that surprising since a lot of people have already supported some questionable legislation in regards to freedom of speech and anti-establishment.
