Religion is the most mysterious of subjects, but not the morals and values it represents - love, kindness, virtue, etc. We are more familiar with those aspects of religion than of God, the afterlife or anything else mystical. Religion is more about ourselves, as a whole, rather than with God or the afterlife. Religion is more about being good to ourselves and others rather than pleasing God. One may please God by worshiping him or respecting him or honoring him, etc., but then that one may not treat people who displease that one person or disagree with that person well but treat them badly. On the other hand, one who may not even think about God much but treats everyone well, despite any differences or displeasure with them. That is what God is really looking for in a good person!

Notice what Jesus said that God was looking for:
John 4:23-24 King James Version (KJV) 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

We've been discussing about that with my uncle which is a former pastor of our church. We've been seeing some members who are stumbling blocks of other church members. You know, what God pleases on is, what we call "applied Christianity." Our belief mus manifest in us, and must be seen in us, in our life, and in our behaviors.

Yes, religion is pretty mysterious because it's soemthing that cannot be proven so far. I think religion is ore of a personal thing, it's soemthing you believe in. Sometimes religion may cause lots of arguments and debates because everyone has their own unique belief system. Not everyone will agree with one another so that's why I think religion is more of a personal thing. I'm Christian but I have Buddhist and atheist friends too. I don't tend to vocalize about my religion. Really, all my friends are still good people no matter what they believe in.
But it's nice to know that there is a higher power somewhere looking after us. It gives us a bit of hope.
