Paranormal activity and Christianity

Most of you know that I'm a born-again Christian. I believe in what the Bible says and have accepted our Lord Jesus as my Messiah. I've never seen a ghost or demon or had supernatural knowledge or anything like that but I've heard stories all my life, including reading stories on the Internet, here on MyLot, and sometimes Sidetick would ask questions like do you believe in ghosts and people would report their own paranormal experiences. I know some of you Christians might see me as blasphemous but I'm not trying to be, honest. It's just that these stories seem so realistic and not all experiences are bad, some even helped the person experiencing the paranormal activity.
Before you get into thinking about demons, I'm just curious of what you guys think? I'm looking for other born-again Christians to give their take on this, I'm kinda scared to ask someone who is a Christian in my offline life, I know this is a heavy topic and all.

I believe that there are supernatural influences in the world, they are subordinate to God, but are allowed to do whatever their work is on the earth, for a time. In the end, God and His people win, and are victorious. I believe that Satan can even masquerade as an angel of light to lead the people of God astray. I think it is important not to give a foothold to the devil by dabbling in the supernatural. You will remember that in the Old Testament, King Saul consulted with a medium, even though it was against what God said, and if I am not mistaken, he saw a ghost or a vision and the disobedience sealed his fate. Personally,I am convinced I have the type of personality that could have paranormal or psychic abilities, but I have stayed far away from it ever since I realized that was not what God wants for his children and being involved in those things is a sure way to be lead astray. Now I also believe that we are given some abilities to process information in what may seem supernatural, but it is not necessarily that, it is just that human beings do not understand all the talents we have. That is why there is "intuition". It is a way that we process information, and we do not necessarily know how all of our abilities, but our focus needs to be on Him who gives the ability. Make sense. In short, I do not doubt that there are supernatural forces in the world, but that as a Christian it is our job to focus on, and work with the supreme super natural force of God. I believe that people can be "possessed" but more often are "oppressed"

I know about the gift of the Holy Spirit - gift of descernment, Paul writes about 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit and that's one of them, I don't think I have that because I can just tell if something's not right but I'm not able to descern what kind of spirit it is or anything like that.

So, you are asking if a believer has had supernatural experiences? Well, my son is named after this friend of ours who has seen angels a couple times. (and they don't look like little babies with fat cheeks..
) I have read where this present day pastor, (who I question at the moment) has seen demons. There is also the one guy who made the 23 minutes in h3ll video, but the latter two are not someone I personally know.
As for myself, I never "saw" anything, but have felt and smelled in the supernatural before. The first time was at a Women's Aglow conference and while I was interceding, I felt arms wrap around me. I look up and no one was near me, so I knew it was Y'shua comforting me. The second experience was also a women's aglow, but it was local and only about 3-4 women were there. The hostess had baked and egg dish to share, that was the only food there, yet while they were praying for me, I smelled a strong cinnamon scent. I have heard another story where someone smelled flowers, but never a spice, and only those standing next to me smelled it. (there was a woman sitting near me, but since she was sitting, she didn't smell it) I can't even remember what the prayer was for, but I'll never forget that, because afterwards I went around the room looking for a candle or something and never found anything with a scent like that..

Intuition, the way I understand it, is when you have taken in some information by your usual five senses, without really noticing it, then you are able to draw on that information which you have already stored, without knowing that you have it. Women's brains usually do this better than men's and that is where the term 'women's intuition' comes from. With some of your impairments, visual and hearing, what you can take in is more limited and so your intuition is as well. There have also been studies that say we have some sensors in our stomach about things, not sure of the details, but that is why it is good to trust your "gut instinct."

I see and yes, Gerty said it all.. Also towards the end, more of the evil will be released, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear even more tales as time goes on. Also, I have experienced what Gerty calls "intuition" except I knew that the problem was and I was feeling bad spirits. Of course I knew how to overcome that too, so it didn't "freak" me out..:)

I think that there are a whole load of things in this life that we do not understand. I've never seen a ghost or experienced anything paranormal, but I've heard so many stories that I think there may well be another dimension that we do not normally see.
I don't think this is something that goes against Christianity. There are all sorts of things in this world which we do not understand after all, and this is just one more.
I am not a born again Christian by the way, this is just my take on things. I don't think you should be ashamed to ask your 'real life' Christian friends for their ideas. Perhaps they have a better explanation that I do.

I don't believe that ghost exists. If they do, they don't live with us in this world. They live in another dimensional space. They see us but we can not see them. If people claimed to have seen ghost, that's really nonsense.

Ghosts, which people think as living creatures out of the deceased are actually the deceptive work of jinn and demons that live in another dimensional space .Their purpose is to mislead human beings. The more we believe in it, the more we will be misled.

When I am still a teenager, I saw like paranormal activity and I do believe in it. It was my neighbor who experienced it. I really saw it . She was been possessed by the bad spirit. She's very strong, she can throw away all the people who forced her to stop. She was been stopped because a minister lead a healing prayer while she's possessing. and the bad spirit went away and didn't come back to her body and disturbed her again. they said that demon enter in her body due to she's a silent type of a person with a few friends and who is afraid of demons which is wronged. If we surrendered our life to God then we don't have to be afraid of bad spirit's they like that. We must have to pray always and asked guidance to our God Father.

That must've been very scary to witness, I'm glad the minster was able to take care of the situation, he'd have the training to do so. I've heard of demon-possession before, my husband has witness demons coming out of people at some church services when he was younger. It doesn't happen any more at the church I go to, and I don't know too much, but I heard you need specific training in exorcism because if you're not prepared, the demon could enter you or something like that.
I pray for G-d's protection around me and my family, it's the only thing I know how to do.

I am Cristian too and about Ghost stories have my own opinion. Firstly I do not even have a convestation about this stuff with other, because I do not like stories like that. I mean, there is border between our life and life there on the other side so we should not interfere behind the borders. I believe in God and also believe what is in Bible so there is no need for me to try looking over the border.

I believe in demon spirits that enter your body. I believe that is why some people behave so badly and why America is in the shape it is now. Where do all the demon spirits come from? One thing, many years ago, we started having all these telephone numbers that you can call and have your future told to you. No one can tell you your future but God, because He is the only one who knows it.
Each time someone would call an 800 o so number to do this, they are calling more demon spirits here. Each time someone decides to be members of cults, they call more demon spirits and so forth and so on.
I am from a non-denominational church where I never would have thought I would have been, but I know now there are demon spirits. I don't know about ghosts. My understanding of ghosts is that demon spirits will come and take the form and characteristic of a loved one, but then that would help a christian or anyone else for that matter to believe in after life. The devil doesn't want for christians or anyone to be happy about anything.

Okay I know those psychic readings and the like and right off the bat I know most of them are fake they're just in it for the money, but there's a few real authentic ones, and I wouldn't go near those guys with a ten-foot-pole because it's distinctly forbidden in both the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the New Testament. I think they call it sorcery.
I've heard of demon possessions, and talked with Christians who has witnessed it all and one guy I talked to experienced it, but thankfully it's not a common thing, but I do recognise it happens.
But what I'm talking about is something different like people reporting things they wouldn't naturally know and stuff like that, or people getting this uncanny feeling of something evil and escaping just in time and they're not Christians and that sort of thing. Kinda freaky, and I know I wouldn't want to have any part of any these kinds of experiences but just reading them kinda make you go "hmmm..."
