I own stock in Disney which is the parent company of the ABC network. Some time back I was unhappy with many of the programming decisions that ABC had been making, but on the ABC website the only place to complain was a link to complain about each show individually. Since my complaint was more general then that, I went to the Disney company site and complained to a place in the investors area and pointed out that my complaint was a general one about programming decisions. Eventually I got an email back and it was obvious that my complaint had not been read very well. All they did was send me the URL where you could complain about an individual show. So today when I got the annual report and proxy statement to vote my shares for the upcoming shareholders meeting, I voted against everything except the selection of the accounting firm. This meant I voted against the reelection of ten board members which included Iger the CEO and against two things that where there to give the board members and officers of the company more shares and money. That may seem a little petty, but the way I look at it they are ultimately responsible not only for overseeing ABC but for their employees that respond to stockholders about investor relations.

Good for you...that's shareholder democracy in action. Was your vote related at all to the All My Children and One Life to Live cancellations? I've noticed that a lot of people are mentioning that they're still actively boycotting ABC over that decision -- the effort seems to have more legs than the usual network boycott. I'm still none too pleased with ABC myself over the V cancellation, though I realize most TV decisions ultimately come down to the ratings so it perhaps makes as much sense to blame the TV watching audience as it does the networks.

I understand that your not happy with the respond and agree with you. Its bad when a company doesn't think their stockholders are important. I don't own any stock in that company and no plans to buy it.
