Did you have a part-time job when you were a college student?

Actually there are not many part-time jobs offer for college students here. But when I was a college student, I ever had a part-time job as a tutor for a high school student. I liked that since the income was good for a college student. And it is also a kind of working experience.

Yes, I did have a part-time job when I was in college (2003). I became a tutor in one of an English courses in my city. I got pretty much money for a college student like me as I could pay my own tuition fee. :)

yes, i have had part time jobs when i was in college. although, i can't remember doing them. i have dissociative identity disorder. i do know that i work at a customer service rep and a psychic tarot reader. no wonder why i have those skills and don't know where i got it from. i think most people no-a-days work their way through college. it's tough economical times.

I wonder why they didn't let you show the ID card to prove that you were at a legal age to work

I did a lot of part-time jobs that is more on retailing, while studying. Since I wanted to be businesswoman. Now, the skills I had from that retailing, I am applying it in my own venture.

I once handled a reading camp during a summer vacation and also worked part-time as a secretary while I was at college. I also freelanced as a programmer and did projects.

Yes, I had a couple different part time jobs when I was in college. One was a work study, which required me to work in the college library.

i did a quite a number of Part-time jobs when i was in college.. and it was of fun.. i enjoyed it because it really helped me improve on my language skills - also taught me responsibility, how to work in group, how to manage your time (between work / classes),.. and mostly taught me 'people skills'- most of the jobs i took were customer-related jobs - waitress, shop assistant,etc.. so i really improved my language skills a lot.

I think having a part-time job has more advantages for students.

There was a time when we experienced difficulties in money. I did not want to stop so I tried my best to look for a part time job. I was hired as student assistant in a big computer shop. I worked during the mornings and go to the university in the afternoon. It is really hard to be a working student. There were times that I feel sleepy in the class. I am still thankful that even I was so stress during those times, I was still able to catch up with our lessons and was still able to get a good grade.

I didn't have a part-time job when I was a college student, but I used to have lots of "sidelines" to earn extra money. Since I love retail selling, I got into selling clothes, perfumes, and even food. Those were my sources of extra income.

When I was in college I worked one part-time job on campus and then when I moved to Idaho and decided to live off campus I had gotten a campus job and an off campus job. It was hard having both jobs, but I had stuck with it until Randy's mother had become terminally ill and needed care then I had quit my jobs so I could take care of her full time. I am doing an online graduate program and I am not working. I am also taking care of Randy full time because of his serious foot condition and he is unable to work.

As much as I want to do that but then I am a kind of person who lacks focus that is why I doubt it if I can work as part time while I am still a student. But of course I know the big advantage of that when you are working while studying. At least you have your own savings.

Besides, you will gain some working experience when you are a student. After you graduate from the university, at least you can apply for a job easily.

I haven't attended a college, let alone have a part-time job.Since "the Great Cultural Revolution" here, most people at my age had no access to higher education. You are really an industrious person ,when you were a college student, you began to do a part-time job as a private teacher.

Well, back when I was in College almost 3o yrs. ago, there were a lot more opportunities for someone in College than their are today. It seems like it is almost impossible for a lot of people to find even a part time job somewhere especially in their field they want to work. Personally it would make it easier if there was more to help give them a little more experience for sure. Being a tutor especially is a Good way to go.

I did not take any part-time job when i was freshman in the college. As it was my first time to live in another city away from my hometown, my parents did not allow me to take part-time job, for they thought it was dangerous to do that in a unfamiliar city. While as a sophomore, I worked as a tutor for a whole year, and made almost 1000 yuan in that year. So I was quite rich and can buy something i wanted. Being a junior , I had a chance to work as a saleman, and my supervisor also sent me to take a part-time job in a big company.

I worked as a collector for a rural bank way back when i was in college. The work schedule was from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, and my classes start at 1 p.m. It involves just collecting small amounts of deposits from mostly market vendors who do not have time to go to the bank. The salary was just enough for my daily expenses in school.

Yes, in the last few years of college I had to work to pay the rent... When I was not at school I was working for a telecommunications company, then later in a revenue office. It had really nothing to do with the field of my studies, and didn't leave too much energy for me, so it took a longer time to finish college than it normally would... But at least I got some work experience to put in my resume, lol. I worked in a museum and taught kids at primary school for a few months, but that was part of our education, so I don't consider it work.

I actually worked full time in College and worked part time in High School. When I was in college, I lived on my own and I needed the money to pay for expenses, it's not the easiest to work full time and go to school full time, but you can make it work if you have too.

Hard to believe that you could work full time in college
