Do you prefer giving Cash gift or In-kind gift?

mmh i don't know it depends..naturally a gift is a gift so if it is something or cash it will be good the same in my opinion...

I also do prefer to give cash to the persons nearer to us as it lets them to buy the thing that they want to buy for the special occasion.But with the friends i do go for the gifts that lately they are in need of or they have been telling me that he wants to get this product, so if it is in my budget then i do go and buy it for my friend.As it puts a good impression on the friends and they get what they are in need of.

Well I prefer giving in kind gifts because it shows effort and thoughtfulness. For instance it's your friends birthday and you forgot. It would be very obvious because you would give no gift at all or you could get some money in your pocket and wrap it in a paper with a message and voila! You are bringing money everyday so even if you really thought ahead of giving money, it would be easily misinterpreted as forgetfulness. But on the receiving end, I am a grateful person, whatever gift it is is very much appreciated. I think if you are the one receiving the gift the scenario would be different. Sometimes gifts in kind is not the way you like it. Example a weird clothing that doesn't fit you. Sometimes you even feel obliged to wear it. Now this is not a good scene as instead of making someone happy with a gift, your making her worry. Haha. In cases when you don't quite have the same taste with someone you are giving a gift to, it would be best to give a cheap safe gift(key chain, small stuff toy,etc.) and pair it with a money enough to buy something she'll like.
