Graeme Swann taking pride of place took 4 wickets to give his country a chance to register a victory and thus keeping alive their country hopes of retaining their coveted no. 1 ranking. But still a lot of hard work is required to scalp mahela, mathews and prasanna. Last day is going to be humdinger or England will put the final nail in the coffin very early in the day.

England won the second test against Sri Lanka by 8 wickets. KP was again the star of the show after Lankans picked up two quick wickets. So they retain their numero uno status for now. But this could still change hands in their next series against South Africa. The equation in that series is simple, whoever wins the series becomes Numero Uno.
Cheers!

I'm afraid my friend that England will lose their no 1 status at the hands of SA. Those conditions are not aliens to England and they will relish there. Their current team is very difficult to beat anywhere except in sub continents.

Most teams are tigers in their own country and come a cropper when they travel around. Perhaps Australia is an exception.Sri Lanka and India are great teams in the sub continent pitches. but what happens when they travel to Australia and England everyone knows.

Perhaps the last two series were a bit disappointing for India, but India was improving outside. They have fought valiantly in England and Australia during their down under in 2003 and 2007.

I think now the srilankan innings came to an end and the England have been set a target of 94 and with 62 overs left in the day. It is almost the England's game. they should win this match.
