Are any of you moms spending the day alone?

If so what are you doing? I will be celebrating my birthday and mother's day. There won't be any hoopla. I am just thankful my kids will at least be with me. They are too young to really initiate a celebration. What do you do for yourself for your birthday or mother's day?

How was your day? I feel like I haven't "talked" to you in forever! We have to catch up!

Maybe because we haven't "talked" in forever. LOL I keep hoping to remedy that. I do have a personal question for you because I was reading one of the mylot comments, I thought you had a baby. Did I misread that?
Mother's Day and my birthday were great except for being sick. I didn't even bother to get a cake. LOL Last weekend I made a cake and told my kids it was for my birthday, because my daughter kept asking when we were going to celebrate.

I didn't spend the day alone I went to the IL's w/ the kids as hubby had to sleep for work to keep the house quiet. I didn't get anything as we had no money. IDK what I will or won't be able to do this year for my b-day it depends on how money looks at the time. Usually we go out to eat for special days but sometimes you just can't.

Well you know lack of raises, bills, and cost of living increases. Oh did I mention kids who's appetites are increasing constantly right along with prices! I didn't really go out hanging out with the IL's at their house is no treat.

I hear you about the money issue. I think the economy is effecting more than what the financial analysts are willing to admit. Our little town has so many vacant houses and it seems that shootings are up. I live in a "good" area which is really making me nervous. It is nice you could go out for mother's day. It is too bad that it was more of a chore though.

My mother always spend the mother's day and her birthday alone, for I am in another city. I only have vocation in Spring Festival. So I try to spend time with her in that vocation. On the mother's day, I will make a phone call to her and in her birthday, I usually send her a gift. I know those are not what she wants, but I really do not have time to spend with her in the two days.

I know it is so hard to make time and you always feel like your rushing. I used to take someone very special for granted. I thought he would always be around to call and go see. Now he's gone. If you are close enough to drive over on the weekend maybe surprise her.

Hi friend, good to know that your b'day falls in mother's day. So every kid is celebrating your b'day. We don't do great things to celebrate our b'day and mother's day, simply we convey our wishes to our mother and provide a gift to her to celebrate this day
