We need to encourage more tourists to come to the Philippines

With more Chinese cancelling their flights and visit to the Philippines, we surely have lost a very big market. This is alarming. We all know that we are very dependent on the influx of tourists into our country. That is because they spend a lot of money here plus the fact that more jobs are generated as more tourists come into our country. It's not easy I know but it will all be worth the effort...

It is an order from the government of China because of the dispute between China and Philippines regarding some shoal near the Kalayaan Group of Islands.

hi dear dolce_vita, it would really be nice to visit the Philippines but we first got to save up quite a bit to be able to afford this. Would like to see your home country and of course eat some dishes I have heard about but cant try over here.

I just read on Twitter than Ian Somerhalder was over in the Philippines. I'm not sure what for, but he's talking about how much he enjoys it. I'm not sure if you know who that is. He plays Damon on The Vampire Diaries and played Boone on that show, Lost.

There are more Korean tourists coming to the Philippines than Chinese. Never mind if those disgusting Chinese cancel their flights to the Philippines, there are still other tourists who are worthy of Filipino hospitality.

Why are they cancelling their already scheduled visits to the Philippines? It is obvious that this has something to do with the dispute over that island. Then China has also stopped importing bananas from us. Obviously, they have a message here. They seem to pursue the claim on Scarborough Shoal and it is trying to show us that it is now starting its "war" against us. So what do we do? Do we need to cry and despair over this? Let us think of it another way. Since they no longer want our bananas, they will be looking for other markets which could be not as good as our bananas here since the Philippines is known to produce the best bananas in the world. Our bananas are naturally grown or organic. Regarding the tour here, they must consider the fact that touring the Philippines could be one of the cheapest travel destinations they could ever have. So if they don't come to see how beautiful our country and the people are, it's their loss, not ours. We should encourage tourists from other countries to come. There are already so many, but we can still invite more of them to come. After all, it's more fun to be in the Philippines!

hi, if statistics are right, there are more Filipino tourists going to the mainland and HongKong than there are Chinese coming in. Yes we need tourists coming in from other countries, we have to show them what a peaceful people we are and all this sh..has nothing to do with the present standoff in Panatag shoal. We did not lose anything, mind you

Before that, we need to raise our reputation as a tourist country..now that there's the commotion between the Santiago couple and Mon Tulfo. If not for the incident, we would not know that NAIA 3 is lacking in terms of technology and security.

I agree with the response above. Chinese do not account the highest number of tourists in the Philippines. I didn't knew that China is cancelling their flights to the Philippines. Well, what for? to avoid Chinese in entering my country? If they are not idiots, they will take plane going to Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, etc. and reach Philippines (that's if they could).

Yes, but I think if we can fix our country first then maybe there will be more tourist that will come to our country. These past several years, our country received negative reviews that lead to some videos that talks about how horrible Philippines is. Those videos are also made of foreigners who visited our country. Plus those Filipinos who also hate Philippines and say a lot of bad things about their own country and yet all they do is just talk and talk but never do an action to help this country.
