I'm one of those people that does LOADS of research on the internet. I find it a useful tool to find stuff, basically and I've spent a lot of time looking at pictures for the newly-decorated walls, especially the large wall at the side of the stairs. Now, I found out that it's best to keep to the same size of picture if buying more than one, instead of having a cluster of different sizes. That would over-complicate things, apparently. You're supposed to place a picture 4ft up from the stair so each picture will graduate in height, as you go along. So the size I've come up with for the 250 cm in WIDTH of this wall is 50cm (w) x 60cm (h) for each picture. It would be a tight fit for all 5 but I can always move one elsewhere if I so wish, and space the other 4 out a bit more. Below are some Claude Theberge prints that I love due to how colourful they are. Out of that lot I would like The Black Cat, Dusk and September II, all in the size mentioned above. The other 2 to make the 5 in total would be 2 black and white silhouette cat prints, one at each end. Do you detect a theme here? Only one of the 5 prints DOESN'T have a cat on it and it will be fun for any guests in the house to find the print without the cat on it lol. Gotta win the lottery first as, as you can see, once they've been framed in a black frame (also on the same site) they average out at around £100 EACH! Have you ever bought prints from AllPosters? Mum has and they're lovely! Not Claude Theberge though. http://www.allposters.co.uk/gallery.asp?startat=%2Fgetthumb.asp&txtSearch=Claude+Theberge&CID=5FC35E67ABD44448A40FEE5CF72AF29B

If there were 5 variations of that print I'd have them lol. Mind you, I like a bit of colour too so I guess a combination of colour and black and white won't do us any harm.

When it comes to pictures, you have to like them. I remember when I was doing my hallway, I had pictures of my kids through the years. I had all the frames at 8x10. It looked real nice. But now it is bare because the evil ex is no longer here and she took all the pictures. I have a plan on putting them back someday. I just need to get the frames and print out the pictures. Whatever I can find. She took everything, all my pictures and videos of the kids. But again, if you like the pictures and the colors match with your decor, then go for it. They also to not have to be that far apart either, but not next to each other. You might fit all five in the space you described.

Yes, I know what you mean about them being too close or too far apart from one another. Mind you, the finances being as they are it's going to be just one picture at a time..if I'm lucky! Your ex is indeed evil taking all those pictures and videos of your children. How mean of her.

Hi Janey.. Yes, they are expensive but there are some good looking ones. In the past we have blow-ups of our pictures and I have made frames myself. Or we have had bought some posters, usually when away on holiday and I've made frames for those too. It was a lot easier than I thought. I bought a small book about frame-making in Homebase - but I guess B & Q would have them too. Then I bought some small setsquare clamps and a fine tooth mini saw. Special wood can be bought cheaply too. I made a video of the whole process and put it up on Youtube here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7nFoWovnE4 - not an affiliate link. This was just of a small frame I made, but I made much bigger frames about 4 feet in height. You can also get posters or enlargements of digi photos on photobox.com. And you can messed about with them making them surreal if you want, if you have some photo software on your computer. _Derek

Oh,£100 each, don't they take 20% off the price? You like the cat so much that choose the cat as the subject of the painting.By your leave,I love landscape painting, especially traditional Chinese landscape painting. However I bet wallpaper, bright bulb and colourful pictures will make your house look quite new.
