Have you ever been advised to move out from your place almost instantly?

Hello guys, for the first time in my life we've been advised urgently to vacate our recent residence (we are just renting)within a week's time started a couple of days ago. We were shocked how could this be? The reason of the house owner is that they will renovate their house for their next week's stay. Their workers were already at our house and the are ready for their particular job by tomorrow. We're like crazy, somewhat in panic looking for our new place using the remaining days. In our place (urban city) renting house is very expensive and honestly we didn't have instant money to pay for the one month advance rental, and one month deposit. This is really crazy since we were only just given a week to find our new fad. Have you been on this experience? How did you find solution? Mobhomeir here 052712 1821hrs

Hi mobhomeir. Previously I was sorry about what happened to you. I have never experienced such a case. I think, the homeowner notices too sudden and inhumane. But, you may not refuse it. You should immediately seek a solution. My advice is to get the cheapest house rents. Then sell your valuables or borrowing from your family, for the down payment.

Yes my friend, that's what we did but unfortunately we did not found any yet. We will try again this week because this week is the last extension. If ever we will not be able to see for our final haven, I guess, I don't know yet what's our next move...thanks anyway for responding my friend and your concern of course..I appreciate it . No I never been in such a short time. They will always give you time unless there is a bomb in the house or so. The longer you rent a house the more rights you have. If it comes to renovations they have to tell you in advance and mostly give you an other house for the time being or you can stay (partly) in your house and they give you refund for the rent.. if you have to move they will give you money for that as well. I wish the owner of my house would do some renovating but he is not.

Well, as renters of a room here in our house, we have learned here in WA state, or the area I am living, it is not always this easy. We have to give notice, and if they refuse to move, a court order, but it is always Best for the people involved to move. Sorry they refused to give you much more notice and make you leave immediately. Hope you can find a place you can afford. Just continue to keep positive, and if you believe in Prayer, pray about it and something Good will happen. Wishing you the Best.

We have never had such an experience. It is not right for the house owner to advise you to move out from your place instantly. In our place, the owner usually tells its tenant about this kind of stuff at least one month ahead of time for the one who rent his house to have enough time to get prepared. You may talk to him about it, asking him to leave you enough time for getting another house. Good luck, friend.

Supposedly yes, but we were just only given week extension. But we're in hurry to vacate because there are already lots of workers with us right now. It is so annoying and frustrating because our house is always dirty due to lack of cleaning activities before leaving the house. Thanks for responding my friend.. Mobhomeir here 052712 052712

That doesn't sound fair! Did you have a lease? That would protect you a little bit, as they couldn't just tell you to leave. No wonder you are in a panic,it can take months to find somewhere affordable.

Yeah, I would think a lease should offer you some protection, or course of action to take to make the owner regret his/her decision should the he/she force you out. Although I have never taken a landlord to court, I have heard that the judges generally favor the renter's side of a case where things could go either way because of such widespread abusive practices by landlords in the past.

Hello friend, I have a friend who had the same situation as you,,he rented the house 3 days and the fourth day he was advise to moved and seek for another apartment. He moved all his things to the apartment using 3 days to arranged and bought things for his new apartment and the landlord said he will give and sign the tenancy agreement a week later but it so sad unfortunately the fourth day they advise him to move the fourth day and given him 1 day to moved out, because the landlord owner from other country will arrive and occupy the place and they have to do some cleaning and whatsoever. It was typhoon signal number 3 that time and can't do anything no place to go and no one could help him move his things. It was a sudden evacuation and how hard for them to do that during rainstorm.? I was so pity to them but I can't do anything but to pray they could find a place to stay and move those things to a new place. How rude a landlord would be if hes going to do like this way. I hope your alright now and everything is fine with you now.Take care always. Now I know the reason why you was not online for a couple of days..So,sorry about that..

Wow, I feel sad to your friend there, it's unfair that landlords can be this unfair. but the things is that landlords should be more considerate and a bit fair to the renters. probably best to choose a good landlord and a house close to commercial place where you can buy your necessities. it was hard to believe he got into this situation, so sad

I have never heard of that happening, and I could not imagine. They should have given you warning, before you cose the place. I would be extremely annoyed if i was just about to move into a new place, and then was told to move out because of work about which no one told me. I might even call my attorney, or the better business bureau, to warn people about them.

yes for renovations, but there are laws in our city. The landlord had to pay my moving, pay me three months rent and he had to find me a new place to live. Do you have any laws you should find out of your landlord can legally do that on such short notice.

Well i have never been told to pack and leave almost instantly but i sure have experienced how it was to be wondering if you are ever going to be able to pay for the rent... in our last home the landlady's son was so different that he actually is disrespecting my mom and we hear people knocking on the wooden floor. almost letting us feel we are not wanted. We told them we are to use our deposit and advance money so with that we just did and found other place and transferred.

Luckily I never had such experience... Not with one week notice if time is the issue. I think the most appropriate is around one month. If you notice once you rent a place, they usually ask for 1 month advance aling with a deposit. So I think a week notice is not appropriate.

Hello mobhomeir, My brother has a left over house here in cavite but am not sure if it's still house for rent. I never knew that you actually rent a house, isn't that a bit unstable? because you have no control and the owner can easily kick you out. my brother had so many situations such as these. last time he had a house, but was owned by my aunty, he was not allowed to have a dog, which was too much. therefore, he decided to buy or loan for a new house that is definitely bigger than the others house.

What else? Hard but you don't seem to have a choice. Find a friend or two that is willing to allow you to stay for a few days. It would not be so impossible I guess.
