Check the engine oil, transmission oil (if using an automatic transmission), water radiators, batteries, water wipers, tire pressure, etc. before running the car, good thing to do. Did you do that? Anything that you check it?

Wise! A little messy, but the car was maintained and preserved.

I don't think it's necessary to check these things every time you drive your car. Unless you notice something leaking, there is no way you would go through that much transmission fluid in between each car trip you take. (Unless all you drive is 3,000 miles at a time). I check my oil probably about once a week, and same with tire pressure. Usually when I check my oil (which is about once a week, like I said), I will also check coolant and windshield wiper fluid.

Engine oil can be reduced due to vaporize, not only because of leaks (especially the engine oil with low SAE). If there are leaks in the radiator, hard to see the invisible. For that you need on a regular basis prior to engine start. At least twice a week. Just sharing..

I check everything if I am going on a long trip but for short trips like to the grocery store or everyday driving, I only check the lights (only if I will be driving when it is dark outside) and make sure the mirrors are adjusted.

Important to check the engine oil and radiator water prior to engine start. Problems can occur even when still in the garage.
