I've been trying to call my doctors to make an appointment. The lines been busy got through this morning. I don't have an appointment until June 20th which is the closest appointment. This is just ridiculous. I'm sitting here in pain and discomfort now have to wait yet another month to see him and hope it gets fixed. The hospital won't do anything either and tells me to go to my family doctor. I officially hate Ontario Health Care, if we had to pau up front we probably wouldn't have to put up with this bs.

Not sure what your ailment is..don't need to know..I wish you good health in the future. I do agree with you about the waiting game of trying to get into see our Doctors. I bet if I was one of my Doctors relatives..I would be seen right away.

And people here in the US want more organized Health Care? Personally stories like this make me appreciate more and more the Health Care I get from my insurance and hope with some of the changes getting ready to take place in September our Health care does not also change some. But here if you want to see a Good specialist sometimes they make you wait, but never your primary care doctor.

ya, but not everyone can afford to pay up front. i certainly can't and i do have a number of health issues and meds to treat them. with all the doctors i see, i sure couldn't afford to go.
is this doctor a specialist or your family doc? if it is your family doctor, i would suggest finding another one but if it is the specialist, see if you can be put in the list for cancellations. i do that when i need to see a doctor in a hurry and most of the time i get in earlier than my set appointment.

that is the setback of a socialized health system. since every one has access to health, one can encounter queuing to get certain service. that is good because no matter how rich or poor one is, s/he can get the access to necessary health services. the contrast in other open health system, if one can afford the service, you can automatically have it. but that service is not accessible to all because of its price. what do you want then? socialized or open system?

I know what you mean I gave up on my doc years ago its anywhere from 1 month. To a three month wait I just go to the walk in clinic now and it's less of a wait plus they refute u to specialists quicker so things get felt with properly if my doc didn't have his head up his associates for seven years my knees would not be as bad as they are now but no he didn't believe me that my knees hurt and by the time he sent me to a specialist the damage was perminent
