You do the best you can. You learn not to enable, and try to protectthe children as much as possible. I know of many grandparents raising grandchildren because of an addiction. Learn as much as you can about addiction, never give up hope, do not enable, love your child but do not allow your child to use you. If you want help, to talk with others in the same situation I can refer you to sites and other parents and grandparents. Please message me if interested.

Not enabling is very important! It's a tough situation where children of the child are also involved I'm sure, but somehow this has to be accomplished.

I think that is a very hard situation to be put in. If it is affecting the children and they do them around the child I would have to interviene and sit down with them and discuss it. If they refused to stop, I would make them go to rehab, and see about taking the child until they are clean. It would all depend on how far you are willing to push the issue. If you are going through this, I wish you all the luck in the world and hope that you are able to make the situation better.

This young woman is trying but she seems to become unraveled at times.
