| | I have read parts of the bible but I dont believe everything that is in books. I have a diffrent religin that dosnt require a book telling me how to live. Yes I believe in God and I worship God. But why do I need a book to tell me how to worship? | | | | | | |

| | Well, I guess it depends on if you believe that the Bible is God's word. I have studied other religions too - what are you currently studying? | | | |

| | God knows much more than we do (He couldn't be God otherwise), so we have the Bible as a guide for our life. Not just that, it's an account of the life of Jesus. You can view the guidelines as restrictions, or as tools to make your life meaningful through Him. | | | |

| | I prefer the NIV (New International Version). It's more modern and easy to read for me. | | | | | | |

| | - In discussions, not here, yet, but elsewhere, I've come across those who say no version but the old King James is acceptable. Can you imagine telling a modern person a scripture using the thee's and thous's, and getteth and doeth, etc. - I always thought this was a ploy of dark angels to prevent the spread of the understanding of the bible. One of many, of course. | | | |

| | I like the New American version. Also like the Jerusalem Bible. The Message bible is easy to read, but sometimes sounds outdated. | | | | | | |

| | I have seen whole churches divided down the middle with this question. I alot of times I do not even use a English verision. I read from Greek New Testament. And a Hebrew Old Testament. I think you should study from a Bible you can read and understand and that you trust. I do know some of new verisons are a little off in places. | | | | | | |

| | I have my Living Bible new testament which is for daily reading, through one of the four gospels each season (4 gospels, 4 seasons:) - and the rest of the new testament also throughout the four seasons.. in the order (believed) they were written.. This is the Living Bible's older version, the very relaxed language.. I have my condensed size New American Standard that goes with it, and in it I read some cross references that come up, and the psalms, according to the month, 1-20 is january, 2nd month is the psalms 20's, march, the 30's etc. with 120 through 150 being december. I also have a condensed King James.. and I really like also the Amplified Bible. That's always Great! As they all are of course! | | | | | | |

| | I read the NIV most often, because that is the version we use in our church, but I really like the modern translation "Street Bibles". I think they're really cool and easier to understand and relate to. | | | | | | |
