I like to use one strand worsted and one strand novelty for a lot of things. I just got 37 skeins yarn from my sister. Alot of tehm were red heart pounder. They had a lot on clearance in Chambersburg where she lives ,so she bought me a combination. It was great.

The Knifty Knitter was on sale today so I got the circular set. I didn't even think to look to see if the rectangular one was on sale. They are sold at both Michael's and JoAnn's. I'll have to look at the website you mentioned for ideas, but I know my friend has made baby blankets with hers. What kind of yarns have you found the most useful?

Yes, I bought them for myself after Christmas last year with a giftcard. I used them alot but really only could make hats. Later in the year I bought the straight one, but never made anything with it.

Sometimes customers ask me if I'd recommend the knifty knitter for kids to use. Since my kids are out of college now, I'll have to ask you younger moms and dads. Do you kids use the Knify Knitter? Do they like it? What ages were they when they learned to use it? What is the youngest age you'd recommend it for?

I do have the purple one (its like a long skinny rectangle). I got it at walmart or michaels. I haven't really used it though. Last January, I was looming up a storm.

If it works up fast, it is something I am interested in. I have seen these before, but am reluctant to buy one.

It works up faster than conventional knitting, but like all yarn crafts, it still takes time. I can make a hat in about 4 hours.

I hope you can find one or a loom on the order of them. A lot of people are making wood looms which work the same way, but the knifty knitters are more economical. Now that I have been loom knitting for a few months,I want to purchase a fine gauge loom.

OMG... I had one of those growing up! lol I did make a couple VERY SMALL blankets. I think I was a bit amazed at how many little flowers from the thing it took to make a REAL sized blanket! lol Too funny. Have you made anything?

These are a lot different from those small flowers. You can make clothing items on thes in a couple hours for hat. Much easier then connecting those flowers,I remember those.

Wow! I have to get my hands on one of those. I went to go buy one the other day, and, like another mylotter said, they were sold out. :( I'm going to go to the store today and try again, though! About how long does it take to make a scarf on the knifty knitter?

Good luck getting them. They really are great. You will see that you can finish a hat in about 2-2 1/2 hours, and probably a scarf depending on how big about 3 hours.

Because I promised myself I was only going to make a purchase if it was truly a bargain when I was shopping today, I passed up buying the Knifty Knitter. I found it at Walmart, picked it up, looked it over and put it back. When taxes come back it will be mine!

Silly me...that's what you meant by loom knitting. I teach classes at Michael's and another lady teaches the knifty knitter. I'm going to take her class because if she ever has to miss a class, she'll need a substitute. She uses it to make hats, scarves, baby blankets, purses and other great things. Once a month we meet to knit for charity, and about half those ladies use the knifty knitter too.

I have noticed a glitch on mylot. If I upload a photo for a different discussion, then start a new discussion, it posts the image from the old discussion. Pretty inconvenient as now we have an octopus sandsculpture in the knitting thread. I have no idea how to get rid of it either. Laughs.

I have been looking at these in Joanne's. Are they easy to use? Are there many free downloadable patterns online to use with them? I ask for one for Christmas but my daughter could not find it.

Hi, I bought myself a kniffty knitter a few months ago along with a pattern book but I have not tried it yet. I know a few of my crocheting friends have used it.
