Okay, so let's say that you and your best friend have a fight, and they tell everyone something you told them in confidence, would you turn around and betray their trust too, or bite your tongue and know that you can hold your head up high?
I think I wouldn't spill because at the end of the day I'd feel like I'd be letting myself down.

A good part of friendship relys on trust. The person confided in you while you were friends because of trust. Just because you are not friends now does not mean that it is okay to expose all her secrets. What if the two of you were to make up later? Then what happens is that you have friends and you confide in each other until someone gets mad then they run around spilling your secrets it doesn't seem like there was a point to the friendship then. You can never trust your friends with your secrets because you would have to worry that the two of you could one day get in a fight and your secrets revealed.

I was friends with a girl about 6 years ago, i never confided anything important in her because i was always wary, anyways one day i stopped being friends with her (after a long series of things) and she turned VERY nasty indeed, my sister even found out recently that she blamed my mother as she thought they weren't good enough for me!...she can't admit when she's wrong, and though i do miss her, i could never trust her, she's been known to lie about a lot of things.

well...i wuld be hurt and angry too.......to tell the truth i would had also felt to tell her secrets.......but then what difference wuld be there between me and her .....Nuthing.....
Its a lesson that you learn to keep away from such ppl...and even if they are back...forgive thm but not forget them......keep one hand distance...
