Warning! Bats in Christmas Trees!  

A lot of places I've been to have this vibrating platform which gets rid of extra insects and whatnot right before the customer takes a tree home. Looks like that tree farm needs to invest in one!

This is one of the reasons I don't use live Christmas trees. Those poor bats now need to find somewhere else to live.

That is a good idea, but the should have looked at the tree closer when they sold it. I would be so freaked!!! Not something I want in my house!!

I saw that on the news too! That made me glad I have an artificial tree, even though it doesn't smell as nice, I don't have to worry about what it in the tree or worry about cutting down trees.

I think that would give me a heart attack.
There has to be a better way for the farm to keep insects off of the trees.

The company that supplied the tree should be ashamed of themselves for using such an irresponsible way of controlling insects. I cannot think of a worse start to Christmas than being bitten by a bat in your Christmas tree.
I would have been seriously concerned if this had happened to me, since bats have been known to carry rabies. Incidents are rare, but that would not have alleviated my concern in any way.

Wow, what an experience for you. I never had that, but, once I bought a tiny orange tree. It had a pigmy rattle snake inside, and I didn't know it for a week, when it came out of the tree as I was watering it. Now that is dangerous too.

I heard about that on the news the other day! I didn't have any bats in my tree this year. The cat would have loved it.

yikes! that's scary. good thing that here on our place, we only buy plastic christmas trees coz i think there isn't a lot of very good shaped pine trees. actually there isn't a lot of pine trees at all. we buy the christmas trees at the malls. at least they don't have bats there
