Tis a shame, movies seem to be so much of a universal thing...The drive-in is a great family or date place. Thanks for responding.

There isn't one in my county but there is one in the next county over from me. Its only about a 20 minute drive but it is only open in the summer time. I haven't been to a drive in since I was little. I can't even remember what movie I saw.

I fear that drive-ins are dying out. There is not one anywhere near where I live now. I remember seeing the original Planet of the Apes at the drive-in when I was little.
In Colorado where I live, there is a drive-in at a motel. All the motel rooms face a large screen and the rooms are equiped with sound units so they can watch the movie. There is no extra charge for the movie. It's a hoot! So, is this really a Sleep-in movie??

We had one in our home town many years ago. I remember going there when I was a teenager. It has since closed. There is one about 20 minutes from where we live. It is for sale. The drive-in's are a piece of Americana that can't be replaced.

I wholeheartedly agree. We have our one and it is charming. It too could use a new owner. I hope it is always there. They play pretty new movies too. We pay only 6 bucks a piece to get in. Adam at 11 is still free til this summer. Hopefully we can keep the theatres that are still left!!! Thanks for responding.

We used to live near enough to 4 of them ,but they are all gone now. When we were young{there were 8 of us}my parents would dress us in our pjs, take snacks and we would go to the drive in. It was a great time. When my son was little a couple were still open so he got to experience them. I just think they were such fun.
