Need some advice on fitness...  email this discussion to a friend?

Well I think I'm overweight, but thats a different story. I would like some advice on how to raise my fitness levels so that it is easier for me to lose the weight that I am unhappy with.
My partner has laybyed boxing gloves and focus pads for me for christmas, and I have purchased a skipping rope. But I get tired out after a minute of jumping rope. I go for a walk every day for at least half an hour, and now my son is up and about I am constantly chasing after him, but I always seem to be puffed out and exhausted after any exercise. Any tips or ideas on how to raise my fitness levels?

The best way is to do skipping and 15-20 min of jogging and if it is possible for you then you should do some streches for around 15-20 minutes which will help you a lot..

I cant jog because i have the pram (and it isnt one of those fancy three wheel joggers) but I do pilates, and tai chi and yoga (thats my stretching) which I have no trouble with- but I get exhausted with any cardio. Even my walking...

You just have to get your body used to the exercises first. Like tha jumping rope will do, but you have to get used to it first.

Walking is proberly the best thing for you throw your little one in the pram and go off for a walk, thats what I did when Id had mine. You never seem to be able to get motivated but once you are out in the fresh air you will love it. Getting fit without realising it.

well walking is the best way..n with walk u can always be fit n healthy..u jus need to walk sumetime daily, n regular....it will always benefetially for u...

Well in our country mopping the floor is one work which is considered to reduce weight.For some control just replace oily things with more fibre kind of things.

i think u should do the daily exercise...that is any one exercise like physical r yoga ... like these if u do then it will keep the body as well as the mind free and fit.....

I think your lack of stamina may have to do with the stress of being a mother. Are you getting enough sleep at night? I was always exhausted when my kids were little.
Are you still taking vitamins? Have you had a physical to rule out anemia, thyroid problems, and other issues that cause fatigue?
It sounds like you get enough exercise so I'd look at other factors like nutrition and stress reduction.
