Watching TV or reading TV Scripts

I really think reading the scripts of a TV series is as good as watching it on TV or may be better. What is your view.

I don't watch TV very much at all but when I do watch a program it is either one that I regularly watch or have read the previews and think the show could be interesting. If the preview doesn't appeal to me, then it is more than likely that the actual TV show won't either, so I seldom watch those shows. :)
