I would enjoy making them just for me but what I really want to do is start a homebased business pouring specialty candles and soaps and aromatherapy blends for home, bath, and everywhere else that needs frangrance or aromatherapy.

I had a bath line when I had my biz....soap I really sucked at LOL but bath salts, candles (jar), oils, bubble bath and lotions are really simple....lotions were a HUGE hit..sold really well....lip balm was big and so was bath salts....its actually really simple and fairly cheap to get into if you are willing to do the research....I had told someone else in here that I would look for my old suppliers addys etc and it wasnt til reading this that I remembered (damn I'm getting old LOL)...I'll make myself a note and post those after Xmas Day....

LOL keep in mind I closed my biz a couple yrs ago so I'm not sure if all these places are still open for biz but one that I HIGHLY recommend (Canadian based company) is
K & W Specialites...very very nice ppl, reasonable prices, nice quality..I actually used them for most of my fragrances and lip balm supplies etc..

Another Canadian based company I used was Country Scentiments...

here is another place for oils that i had used (only rarely though)

I had a great supplier of lotion but cant seem to find the addy for it HOWEVER I have recently found bulk lotion on Ebay but havent bought anything....Sea Salt and Epsom salt I bought at local (to my area) stores in bulk for cheap...and as for candle making that I do now there is a store on ebay that I've used and they are reasonable in price, very pleasant and fast shipping....if you do a search for stores in ebay look for
The Candle source...they sell everythign from colouring to wax to scents and I believe moulds as well..great place and highly recommended...
alot of my other suppliers were actually more for metaphysical things/books/jewelry etc etc

I have found them inexpensive on the net from wholesale companies and my true interest lies in making the candles anyway. But thank you for sharing. And how did the soap turn out?

The only problem i ran into while making the soap was trying to get them out of the form shape. other than that the turned out great. very fun to make to

can't you oil the forms or line them with parchment paper or wax paper. I have heard all three methods mentioned online.

Good idea. Just get started, then sell to stores or online.

Sharone, I don't know how to send a link, but I just posted a question "What is the last item you bought from Ebay" that gives the name of an ebay store that sells The Best and most Affordable oils I have found anywhere. I have been using this store for almost 2 years and I swear by it ~Donna

you just type it in, you can't cut and paste until you reach a rating of 500 or higher.
