Do you peek at your presents under the tree? Or would you rather be surprised?

There are so few pleasant surprises in life, I would rather not know when I am getting. It gives me something to look forward too. Can't beat that.

My oldest sister and a few of my aunts who are the same age as us. ( grandma had 12 kids my mom the oldest) They keep saying that I also peeked but I don't recall this. My son use to peek sometimes yes. I nowadays tend to open my presents before Christmas gets here.

I'd rather be surprised usually. Unfortunately, if someone goes on and on about a surprise... then I don't want to be surprised anymore. That used to happen a lot with my first husband. Sometimes when I found out what the surprise was I was so disappointed, because it wasn't nearly as exciting as what he had made it out to be.

Right now I like the surprise thing. I'm always the one who says "Let's wait till Christmas" but when I was a child I peeked. One year I peeked and fell in love with a doll with red hair but I did not get that doll on Christmas morning. My doll that year was a blonde and (horrors!) the red headed doll went to my little friend down the street. Turns out our mothers switched dolls before Christmas to teach as a lesson.
