Do you take your pets to be groomed?

We have two beagle dogs, but we groom them ourselves. My husband does most of the grooming, from cutting their nails to cleaning their ears and eyes, to bathing them, to brushing them. I sometimes bathe and brush them, but the rest is for my hubby!

I have two dogs and thank goodness they are small enough for me to groom myself. I have a beagle and basset hound. the are hugely different in weights, KC being 20 lbs and Bailey 32 lbs, but because they are not too big, I can do it myself. Well, not all by myself...if you have ever groomed a dog, then you know that you need some assistance. ha ha That is where my two teen children come in to help. :) the bathroom becomes a little messy but we get the job done. :)

No I dont it cost too much for my budget, plus the animals I have are all short hair so no grooming required

I used to when I had the money for it and I owned a shih-tzu. He only wanted the groomer to give him a bath or brush him. Besides over all it was worth it. Now though due to money I can't afford to take our dog to the groomers so we have to do it ourselves. We now have a collie and it can be hard to wash her but she loves to be brushed and combed. Makes a differnce. I'm just glad I don't have to bathe the cats too often. They really fight it.

Right now, I only have a cat, and I don't take her to get groomed. But, when I was younger, my family had some dogs and we would take them to get groomed a few times a year. Like you said, they were just too big to do it ourselves and we had 3! So, probably if I ever get a dog in the future, I will take it and get it groomed.
