1.  ChewySpree (1559) | 2 years ago |  I think different things work for different people, and people should only do something if it works well for them. I know some couples who have been together for many years but have never married, and they are very happy. They have no desire to get married, so in my opinion, they shouldn't get married just to appease others.

| 5. chineryl (76) | 2 years ago |  It seems that there is a fifty percent divorce rate for love marriages in the U.S. which is MUCH larger than the rate for arranged marriages anywhere else. Marriages often don't work out just because the people involved didn't know each other as well as they thought they did and they didn't what they found when they did. Despite this pessimism caused by the alarming divorce rates I'm all for getting married to the right person!

I tend to agree with what you siad, people should know each other as best they can before marriage, but if its ment to be and true love, and if you've found your soul mate, then marriage will last, whether or not you know them totally. In fact, I have been married for several years and am still learning who my wife is, I love her more now than I did yesturday, and I'll love her more tommorow than I do today. | |
