What would you do with your old pod coffee maker??? |
| |
| I have to make a decision here folks and need some help. I got a new coffee maker for Xmas a Senseo. I have a Black and Decker Home Cafe that I was using. Here is the problem. I am a member of www.freecycle.org and would love to pass on this coffee maker. However I have read about many faults with it and fires started due to overheating and turning itself on etc. While I have not had any of these problems, I don't want to endanger someone else. Should I recycle it or toss it???? Dilema Dilema Dilema...lol | | Home Cafe Coffee Maker...many faults | | | | |

| | Sell it on ebay and say it is sold as is, so if it has any problems you are not accountable. If you fear for someone elses safty then warn them about the faults. | | | | | | |

| | If you are worried about it then toss it. That way you can rest easy that you have harmed no one. Its better to toss something that is potentialy harmful then to recycle it. | | | | | | |

| | This is what I was thinking. But I just hate to throw something out that still works. But then I don't have to worry about someone getting hurt. I am also a bit of a pack rat...lol | | | |

| | I am in the same boat as craftwave--if it might be harmful, throw it away. I would even disable it so that someone could not pick it up at the dump and get hurt. I am a member of a packrat family, so I understand that, too. | | | |

| | She wants to donate it or give it away, she doesn't want anyone harmed . It has potential to set fire as reported by others but hers works fine. | | | |

| | There are many people that would love one of the single cup makers. You should put it on freecycle. I am sure that the company could offer a resolution to the problem. Maybe you should check with the manufacturer to see if there has been a recall first. : ) | | | | | | |
