Do U think educational toys are helpful for kids development?

I think that these toys are helpful only to certain extent and they r also very expensive. I think I would prefer story books and also teaching by being ourselves good examples .What is your view?

Educational toys are useful for children with less imaginative power.
They are useful for slow learners and special children.
some parents like to impose too much to their kids [a little above their age level],they buy these toys.

i do believe in educational toys as a tool in developing children. but of course as the child grows his intellegience also increases so we need to find ways to challenge his thinking.
