Anyone have the Nikon D80 yet?  | |  I'm interested in knowing how you like it!
I'm thinking about saving for one. I don't really have extra money, but I was thinking in a few months I might be able to afford one and wanted to start checking it out now.
If you had the Nikon D50 before or something similar, let me know if it is enough of an improvement.

| | | | | | 1. Great_Nate (80)  | 3 years ago |  I just got a Nikon D50 and I'm very happy with it. I also wanted a Nikon D80 but I was on a limited budget. The only thing that I miss on the D50 that the D80 has is DOF preview and an illuminated top LCD. Its no big deal though, I just check the rear LCD after I take the picture to see the resulting DOF and for the top LCD its easy to just bring a small light with you if you are shooting out at night.
Becuase new bodies come out all the time, I think its better to invest in some good lenses.

I'll definitely be getting some good lenses as well. I know someone was telling me that I could just get an off-brand lens for it so that the camera doesn't seem so expensive. But what's the point of getting a Nikon if you don't go for a Nikon lens? That's what the company is known for!
The image stabilization on this line of cameras is in the lenses anyway right? Otherwise, I was thinking perhaps that would be improved. The D80 is 10 megapixels, but I suppose I don't need more than 5 as I've never printed a poster yet anyway. | |

It is the sort of thing I would like to get for myself... but unfortunatly I don´t have the money right now... so I´ll wait even more until I get a digital camera. I have a video camera but not still photo digital camera...

| Pigglies (5000) | 3 years ago | I have my underwater digital camera that I've been using now. Well, technically it's just a point and shoot, but I bought it for underwater use.
And then my main camera needs repair. Either way, I think I'll get that repaired. But I want to save for something new too.
Luckily, now I am getting a little bit better at saving and I will put money away for a specific item. So far, I've only got $100 put away towards a camera. So I'm no where close to the one I want. | |

Yesterday I went to look at the D80 and see if I wanted the D200 instead. I guess I do not want the D200, because I do not have large enough hands! I guess the D80 is supposed to be lower in price soon. | |
