Which is true to you. Love your spouse cos you need him/her or need your spouse cos you love him/her. Please discuss.

Needing someone is not love. I do not need a partner at all and was quite happy on my own. I need Shrek in my life because I love him and would have a big hole in my world without him. I do not need him financially and he is usually so busy that I cope with most of the kids stuff alone anyway. I need Tescos to deliver on time but I do not need my partner to be anyone or anything but what he is, how could he be the person I love if I needed him as then he'd just be like a saucepan or something useful not something to be enjoyed, I hope that made sense.

if it is true love, then the right words should be: I need my spouse because i love him.

I don't really understand what you mean here but I if to think in your logic way - I love my spouse because I love him, and that's it.

What I meant is. Why do you love him. You love him cos you need him (financially or otherwise). Or you need him (you need to be with him) because you love him (no strings attached)
