dollar stores-what will you buy there? what won't you buy there, and why?  | | | |  Here's my list (at least the things I WILL buy): petroleum jelly, scotch tape, condiments and spices, ammonia and bleach, hair spray, shampoo & conditioner (if it's a brand I know), wrapping paper, packing tape, mailing labels, envelopes,and food of nearly any kind provided I can see an expiration date to show it's still good. About the only things I can think of off the top of my head which I WON'T buy is glassware (tends to shatter too easily -either that or I'm a klutz!) and ceramic ware because I've heard so many bad things about lead content from dishes and such being imported from other countries. I hope you all share what you think's a good (or bad) buy and why, 'cause I'm ALWAYS looking for good buys.

| |  I'm not sure if buying food and spices from a dollar store is a good idea. Esp spices, I'm sure they are not the genuine thing and could have impurities. I've been to a dollar store only once and I bought a few gift wrapping things like bows, ribbons and wrappers. I also bought fashion jewellery. Heck, its a dollar what am I gonna lose..lol

| |  I like to shp the dollar stores. You can get some good bargins there but you do have to watch the quality of some items. The silverware is of poor quality. It's one of those cases of try and learn what to buy and not to buy
