I have not yet learned how to cook a mean steak, so I want you to teach me your personal recipe. What do you do to make that mean steak that gets mouths watering, smells great as it cooks, and leaves whoever eats it satisfied and full yet still begging for more? How do you cook it? What do you marinate with? What other tips and tricks do you use? Share with me!

Best steak EVER....
Marinade steaks in Lea & Perrins Worchestire Sauce, onion powder, McCormick's Montreal Steak Seasoning. Let marinade at least for an hour, overnight is best. Did you know that "aging" steak is actually a wonderful way to obtain great flavor? If you'll notice, superior steak houses have signs that say things like "Perfectly Aged Angus" or such. Most think this means before the butchering, as in they raise them to the perfect age to get the most tender cuts... WRONG! This means that they actually put them in a refrigerator for 2-3 days. Aging the meat allows the water in the meat to evaporate (a steak has a huge amount of water in it that takes away from the flavor) and also allows it's own juices to break down the meat fibers, making it tender. So don't fret if you put the steaks in to marinade for a day or 2 even just as long as the fridge NEVER falls below 40 degrees F.
Good luck!

This is the way my boyfriend does it. Hes a really good cook. I hardly ever cook anymore. He doesn't marinate the steak. First get put some canola or olive oil in a pan and get it hot. Then add about a teaspoon of minced garlic. Brown the garlic. Put your steak in. Turn it over when its brown on the underside. This takes about two minutes. Sprinkle on salt and pepper and onion powder to taste. After a few minutes pour about a quarter cup of water in and let it sizzle. Then flip the steak again. Turn it off. That should be medium rare. Cook longer if you wish or if you have a thicker steak. I hope this helps.

One of the first things to do is when you go to buy the steak, make sure it does have some fat on it. Too lean of a steak and the flavor is not there. You need fat on it to give it good flavor. A nice marble effect is always good.
So now you have your steak. You can marinate it if you want, it's optional to me. What you want to do is poke it a few times with a fork. Then put it in a pan or bowl with italian dressing, yep just cheap italian dressing. Let it soak for at least an hour, flipping once if need be due to amount of marinade in there.
Now you are ready to cook it. Go to the oven and turn on the broiler, on high if you have settings for it. When the over is preheated put the steaks on the broiler pan. Now I like mine rare to medium rare so I cook them for about 4 minutes and flip them and cook for 4 more minutes.
That's it. Hope you enjoy.

1. Buy a good cut of meat. Talk to your butcher and let him know what you want to do, how many people you want to feed, etc.
2. Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.
3. Let the meat come up to room temp while you fire up a pan. You want this pan to be really hot -- so a drop of water skitters across it and then disappears.
4. Drop the steak on the pan and let it sit for at least 4 minutes. When the steak willingly moves as you go to flip it, it's ready to flip.
5. flip and cook for about 4 more minutes. Pull off the pan, place on a plate and cover with aluminum foil for about 5 minutes.
6. Serve. The steak, if it was nice and thick, will be medium rare (the best way to eat steak, in my opinion). I like steaks with A-1, but that's only right when it's about to be served. Make it this way and all you'll taste is the flavor of the meat.
