|  I think I'm quite materialistic. I'm not so materialistic that my life is defined by my things and I don't splurge on BIG things. What I do is I weigh my options and buy a lot of smaller things. For example, I wanted to buy the canon SLR decided to go with the sony t-9 cause it goes for about 30% of the price of the SLR, just so I could buy some other stuff with the money I saved..and I love all my belongings!

| |  I've been looking at that one too. I wonder if I could deduct it from my taxes if I take a photography class at college and say I needed it for school? Hehe. Never really thought about that. But I am considering taking some photography courses, although, mostly to learn my film SLR.

I try not to buy a bunch of small things, but I do end up buying jewelry quite a bit, although, not as much lately. I also have quite a collection of musical instruments, and now I guess I'd really like to sell them. | | | | | | |

| |  I agree, I am not materialistic, but I do like to have quality things. I am a researcher and like to get the best bang for my buck.
I have a digital camera, a cell phone, a PDA, and iPod and my Apple computer. None of them are or were top of the line when I bought them, but I think I got the best value. They had what I needed/wanted and I am happy.

| |  I'd say I'm too materialistic by half. This is driving me insane: all the things I want to buy! Hoooo! Sometimes, I think, if I give my 10% in tithes and another 10% in savings, I'm home free, but noooo...this doesn't cut it when my mind is set on all the other stuff I can purchase because of the greedy desires of my heart.
I just wish I can let go of this "I want this, I want that" attitude and focus on the more important issues in my life...like my family, who I need more than I need all those other stuff.
